Let's Rank The U.S. Presidents (20th Century, 21st Century)
This is how I rank the presidents of the 20th and 21st centuries, from best to worst:
4. Teddy Roosevelt
7. Woodrow Wilson
10. George H.W. Bush
19. George W. Bush
The last 7 presidents with full terms are all Republicans, and rightfully so... They have disenfranchised, demoralized, and swindled the average American citizen.
LBJ #2? Vietnam?
Obama over Clinton? Really?
Sorry. Reagan goes second to last. No one did more to hurt this country than he did, economically, socially, and politically, except Harding, who truly was incompetent.
LBJ had a lot of domestic successes, ranging from civil rights to education to social provision: "Historian Alan Brinkley has suggested that the most important domestic achievement of the Great Society may have been its success in translating some of the demands of the civil rights movement into law." Your mileage may vary, of course...
I think Obama has done more for the LGBT than Clinton ever did. So, in that regard, I rank him more highly.
Actually Reagan is THE worst. Without the evil Reagan began someone like W never could have happened.
I agree with LBJ, because I think the War on POverty and Medicaid and Medicare trumps everything. Hundreds of millions would be dead before their time and would have lived lives of great suffering if not for things like Medicaid, Medicare and Food Stamps, especially the most helpless in the country, the very poor elderly and children.
How many of you would now have your parents and or grandparents living with you if not for what FDR and LBJ did.
What will be Obama's contribution to help America's poor? Probably a big fat ZERO at best, at worst going along with the GOP and taking some or all of what little they have.
O is still planning on cuts to SS and Medicare despite his pretty speech last Monday.
Not 1 on your list was even close to being right. Obama has a lower rating then any other president ever!!!! That is according to a popularity poll conducted by a news agency !!!!
Obama over Clinton makes complete sense if you look at legislative accomplishment.
What progressive legislation did Clinton roll out? I'll wait.
The Harding family was delighted when Dubya moved into the Oval Office. No longer was Harding the worst president. Obama belongs in the lower half of the list. I agree with FDR and LBJ being 1 and 2, with Truman right behind them.
Red Tots Eat Kool Jell-O!
Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower are the only good Republican presidents of the past 100 years.
Top 5 Worst (based on accomplishment)
1. George W Bush
2. Ronald Reagan
3.Warren G. Harding
4. Calvin Coolidge
5. Herbert Hoover
Top 5 Best (based on accomplishment)
3. Teddy Roosevelt
4. Barack Obama
The way LBJ got into office. is the only way he could and the only thing he did was make his second largest construction. company in Texas become the largest in the world by rebuilding what our military destroyed in the 12 years we were there. Only a small fraction was actually rebuilt.
George H.W. Bush
George W. Bush
In answer to reply #10 you must be a union worker!!!
O.P. I completely agree with you. Kudos.
Obama definitely the worse. He has destroyed this country.
In reply 11 our military was in south Vietnam.
R15 is a moron.
R15, now give us a cogent reason as to how he destroyed it. And no, I could say "cogent" with a straight face.
Are we taking bets on how quickly R15 mentions "ar' values"?
Move Obama down, take Carter out.
Jesus, were you born yesterday, OP?
FDR, Truman, Obama (provisional), Clinton, Ike, HW Bush, LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, W Bush
Not ranking Ford and Kennedy because they did not serve long enough. Not ranking ones before FDR because that was a different era.
Bush the son is worse than Reagan because of his folly in Iraq.
[quote]Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower are the only good Republican presidents of the past 100 years.
If you go back 160 years to the founding of the Republican Party in 1854, there have only been three good Republican presidents: Lincoln, and the two you mentioned, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ike. That's it. The rest have all been duds, or like Bu$h and Harding, even worse.
FDR clearly belongs in the top spot.
My parents voted for Reagan in the 80s, and look what happened to me! I'm a vegetable now.
HW is always forgotten.

Not by me. I think he is among the greats.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
