Beloved movie star Doris Day is courageously battling a painful, crippling illness as she faces her final curtain call. This week's GLOBE features a blockbuster world exclusive interview with the 88-year-old star's former aide who reveals Doris' lonely last days - and the surprise recipients he says will get her vast $34 million fortune.
Does she not have any children to give her money to?
Que sera sera!
So what does the article say? I cant open it further? I bet she is leaving all her money to animal protection?
The crippling illness is the same arthritis she's had for decades.
The story (read while standing in line at the grocery) doesn't say she is dying. She's nearing 90 and slowing down, and has been having some issues.
It's a crap story.

Nope. Her only son preceded her in death.
There's no more to the article than what's posted in the OP, R3. At least online.

Her only son died of cancer a few years ago. He had one child, a son with his ex-wife -- the boy sided with his mother in the divorce & became estranged from his father & his grandmother.
Doris Day's animals have treated her better than most humans ever did. If she leaves her fortune for animal welfare, that would be fitting.
She loves animals so I'm sure she's giving all her money to them.
I've been near her home. Carmel is truly a beautiful place.
Is there much of a fortune to bequeath?
R10 They said $34 million, which is pretty good considering when she made movies, the pay back then was nothing like what stars get today and the fact that she hasn't made a movie in decades.
And she built up her fortune with her TV show after sleazeball husband Marty Melcher bilked her dry - she only found out after his death.
amazing since she hasnt worked in 40 years
Please she's such a tool.
What about when she had Rock Hudson on her show and she said, "So Rock you're looking awful. Is it true you have that gay cancer?"
And Rock just looked uncomfortable and said, "no."
And she said, "Well do you get to looking like that from being gay or from the cancer?"
And Rock said, "Ah the cancer"
And Doris says "And since you're and AIDS infested homo, that makes it gay cancer?
We're posting from "The Globe" now?
My how DL has changed.
Yo Doris, I've always appreciated you! How about throwing a couple million my way?
A woman, black, on welfare lost her FOURTH child to gun violence in Chicago yesterday. Hmmmm.

"Liza Minilli" phones Doris in 2007. I'm not sure she knows Liza and it's not because of dementia...
Since her birth year was recently revealed to be 1922, not 1924, Doris will be turning 91 in April.
