WEHT that gay model that the Fat Contessa loved on her show

The one who has initials, JT, TJ or something like that. I know he was gunning for his own cooking show and has had several reality shows in development but the aging queens seems to have disappeared. I do know that he only ate bites of her fatty food for the camera. Once it stopped rolling he would push the short ribs away and have salad.

• He's still a successful model. He was in a high-profile TV commercial last year. Supposedly he and Ina had a falling out over something. Maybe he wanted Ina to help him get his own show and she refused. From everything I've read, Ina is out for Ina and to hell with everybody else.

• I don't watch commercials. She never even refers to him anymore so I assumed something had happened.

• I wonder why he'd want a cooking show? He was positioned as someone who had no clue about cooking and she came in to save the day for some party he was having, isn't that how he was introduced on the show? He's a doll - I'm sure if they had a falling out it was all her fault.

• I think the show was probably too farty for him. He looks great, the grey hair gives him an Anderson Cooper vibe and Ina's Hampton gay crowd tends to be in their 50's. Put him in that setting he probably looks older.

• I could totally see him as the host of a travel/food show where he travels around eating at different restaurants. The Cooking Channel has a couple of programs like this but the hosts are unappealing. I say fire them and hire TJ. They could show him hooking up with different guys in every city.

• He was on her show in an ep from 2004 and one in 2008. He has a clip from Sex and the City from 2003. Is he working anymore or is he just doing print.

• Girls, he grew up in the Hamptons, hardly a typical beach town, its the Beverly Hills of the east coast. He is a perfect picture of that lifestyle. Dabbles in this or that to look busy but mainly gets work because of who he knows and how he looks. I would hardly say he is successful. Have you seen his fish house he lives in on the show? I am sure the location is worth money but its smaller then Ina's barn.

• That uppity queen bit the hand that feed him, literally. Before the Barefoot Contessa was famous, she hired him to work in he little store. Then hired him again as an adult to be the background character in several of her cooking shows. If they had a falling out, I am sure his fame went to his empty head. Anderson Cooper, he is not.

• R14, obviously you can't cook. The Barefoot Contessa is not Paula Dean. Ina is actually the best chef on that whole channel. A lot of her recipes are french inspired not southern fried chicken. I have tried many of the chefs recipes on that channel and she by far kicks everyones ass. Drop the campy Paul Dean and learn to cook, go with Ina.

• I agree, R23. Of everyone I've seen cook on TFN (and I've seen them all), Ina is the one I'd most like to have prepare a meal for me. Not only is it fascinating watching her make everything from a big luxurious meal to a simple sandwich, but her food always looks mouth-wateringly delicious.

• Her new season of shows was filmed in Napa, where she and Jeffrey rented a home for the summer. It's a nice change from the Hamptons. If I had to watch her drive to that Hamptons cheese shop one more time to buy a $50 wedge of imported cheese, I was going to scream. She spends more on fancy cheeses in a month than the average family spends on a year's worth of groceries.

• Yes, I'm liking these Napa shows too. Just watched the one where she cooks a steak with Tyler Florence, and boy did that meat look good (the steak AND Mr. Florence). Later in the episode, they showed Jeffrey making his own custom bottle of wine, and as he made it he sipped and sipped and sipped. He was definitely tipsy by the time he met Ina in the middle of a vinyard for their evening picnic.

• They also showed her food shopping around San Francisco. I had no idea they turned that old building in Fisherman's Wharf into a gourmet food hall. I think I could easily spend all day and a $1000 in there.

• I like Ina's show but come on. Half of her meals involve her driving to a boutique grocer and buying olives, cured meats and cheeses. Then she goes home and puts it all on a tray and, viola! A course is made. Still, I love cheese and olives.

• You've obviously never seen many of her shows then, R29. She cooks many things from scratch. If she's catering for a friend or doing a quick get together, yes, she may drive and buy items for a cheese tray, but come on.

• TR the Townie is now elderly, unemployed and alone. Most of the shit in his modeling portfolio is at least 15 years old. Prob poz too.

• She has done all of those and then some R33. Probably just caught her on an off day. Try here chicken pot pie, its really good and totally from scratch including the dough. Its like gourmet comfort food, but a lot better.

• R36, I know enough to know that Ina has made many a salmon or cucumber sandwich on her show and has used cream cheese as a spread. Watch the goddamn show before you comment.

• I agree, Ina is the best, hands down. If you are talking about food and flavor that is. Some of her better ones: Chicken Salad Veronique French onion Soup 40 Cloves of Garlic Chicken Grown Up Mac and Cheese with Gruyere Linguine with Shrimp Scampi Chocolate Brownies She has tons of good chicken recipes that do not involve a deep fryer. Her Lemon Garlic Roast Chicken is 5 star.

• R30, I should have made it more clear that I do enjoy her show and have eaten dishes prepared using her recipes (I didn't cook them but luckily, I have friends who like to feed me). I just chuckle every time she buys something prepared from the grocery and makes a course of it. Once, she bought some kind of chicken salad and made sandwiches. I wish she would buy those items, like olives or nuts, and then do some recipes on how to spice them up instead of serving them as-is. I'd love to see her make different flavors of olives or do some party nuts or something. I do think she is one of the better personalities on Food Network.

• R52 My experience with him... which was a few years back... I found him to be catty and a bit of a climber. He's the type of guy that pays no attention to you unless he think you can do something for him or he finds out who you are (that was my situation). The minute he finds out who you are, he's just very phony and smarmy (although he doesn't realize this is how he comes across). He has aspirations for himself that, to me at least, seemed out of his grasp. Even sex with him feels like nothing more than a transaction. I don't claim to have a lot of experience with Ina, but she seemed completely the opposite of TR. She seemed genuine and the type who really is all about being entertaining. I got the strong impression that her friends really become her family and she may be (slightly obsessed) with having close friends (I sort of chalk this up to her not having kids. At least I don't think she does).

• R53, you're right that Ina Garten has no children. No pets either, which I find odd because her house is on a lot of land with plenty of room for animals. So she has to make do with her husband, her gay pals, neighbors, & a few co-workers -- not surprising if she may tend to lavish attention on them. She used to fawn over TR on her show. I do wonder what happened?
