World War I and World War II and the cold war
Do you know any behind-the-scenes secrets? Do you have family members who served during World War I & II and who witnessed the cold war. What are your sentiments.
- The Rosenburgs were guilty. And the white folk won the war.
- Wtf kind of question is this?
- My grandfather was a general exiled out of the WWII action to China because he was too close to a young male protege. That's probably a story in itself. Anyway he met Mao to persuade him to fight alongside Chiang Kai-Shek against the Japanese. Mao refused. My grandfather did not always have the best judgment but pegged Mao rather quickly as an amoral psychopath.
- In the post-WWII the US military ignorantly exposed a lot of its enlisted personnel to radioactive fallout during various weapons tests.

- Not a secret but a little anecdote about my grandfather who was a farmer and thus in a reserved occupation. He had German pows billeted with him and my grandfather being the kindly man he was found that at the end of the war the pows didn't want to leave. He hadn't money to keep them on of course but hopefully he was fondly remembered.
