Storycorp's beautiful story about a gay brother who saves a family
StoryCorps records conversations between American family members and archives them in the Library of Congress. This recording between a gay & straight brother is a beautiful story of how the gay brother saved a family that had been destroyed by religious fundamentalism.
Give it a listen and you'll feel good.

- It really was a moving piece of audio. If you go to the npr site, there's a photo of the siblings at one sister's wedding.
This comment at the site says so much about how the brothers and sister have fared after life with the parents... "I joined this family when my son married Amy. Their wedding is the posted picture. After hearing about their upbringing anyone would be astonished that in this day and age, such things could happen but they actually do occur. These Wilmoth children are all beautiful, giving and accepting adults. Where their parents failed, the siblings filled the space with their love for one another and accepting of all others. They are a tightly knit group of siblings and are exceptional adults. I have been lucky to be a small part of their family and I feel honored to have met this family. Their parents have no idea what they are missing and I hope one day they come to their senses and try to salvage what they can of their relationships with their children and grandchildren. Any parent would be proud of these men and women!"
