What celebrity breakup would you be shocked or saddened by?
I would be saddened to hear that Howard Stern and his wife Beth split. Also, Aimee Mann and Michael Penn.
- I already lived through Danny Devito and Rhea Perhlman and Will Arnett and Amy Poehler. So bring it.
- Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick
- Will and Amy's split was weird. Two small children, two successful careers. I wonder what the deal was. It was sad.
- R3, have you never heard of personality conflict, loss of interest in each other, and inability to relate to each other?
- Rhea and Danny. Like my parents,it was like; you've been together for 50 years. Why not stick it out for 20 more?
- rhea and danny are supposedly trying to work things out. there's hope yet.
- Robert Sean Leonard & Gabriella Salick.
- R5, you obviously do not understand marriage or being with another person.
And Rhea and Danny were not together 50 years.
It was 30 years.
- Are you on the spectrum r8? It's a gossip forum. We tend to be sarcastic here.
- R9 you read my mind.
- R9, quit trying to act like you speak for EVERY poster on Datalounge. You are very arrogant and narcissistic thinking you speak for anyone but yourself on Datalounge.
- Heidi and Spencer. Would be absolutely heartbreaking to me. I need therapy just thinking about it.
- Neal Patrick Harris and David Burtka
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick
Michael J Fox and Tracey Pollan
- R3, R5, you make it very clear that you have no understanding of marriage or a relationship.
-
Rhea Perlman and her husband float to the top of my mind too. No really! If you see behind the scenes footage of Rhea, she seems like a person who knows how to make her own happiness.
But what do I know except that Cheers first aired when I was one years old and it said goodbye on my birthday, a few days before my parents announced that their marriage was over.
Cheers was my fave
- Danny deVito's sex tape!

- Anne Mera and Jerry Stiller.

But it would be wrong!... [italic]Shockingly[/italic] wrong!

- I was surprised by Seal and Heidi Klum's split. I thought they were pretty stable.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick splitting would be surprising too.
Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas
POTUS and FLOTUS splitting would make me sad.
- Homer and Marge Simpson. They're almost like family to me. I would be devastated.
- Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

- Mary Louise Gummer and Don Gummer. But, no, that would never happen
- R22, that is because Don has quietly looked the other way.
Why does anyone give a shit about Howard Stern's mmarriage?
- R23, listening to Howard Stern a type of Stockholm syndrome takes hold.
When will you be happy?
-
OOps, wrong thread (mistaken for "answer the person above you" thread).
R24
- Ages ago, I was sad to hear about Howard Stern and Allison. They were together from the beginning and she sounded more grounded than Stern. It's been years since i listened to his show or even knew he had a second wife. I guess the constant porn didn't help that marriage. Did he marry a hooker or porn star?

Nope R26. I do believe that Stern married a proper swimsuit model. I only know this on account of listening to his radio show years ago when I was doing job interviews and refused to watch TV during the day, but was too nervous to read.
Yes, Stern is endearing and I csan see how people get sucked in. Fake Oprah calling in is hilarious BTW (when she masturbates, the sound of metal pipes banging is heard, for some reason).
- Beckham and Posh. He would be lost without her and he's a decent guy.
- Howard is very sweet when he talks about Beth.
- Meryl and Meryl's husband, and for a boytoy.
- Jennifer Anniston and Brad Pitt
- Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer. Always thought it was kind of sweet that he ended up marrying the hometown girl he knew from years ago instead of one of the many hollywood bimbos he fucked.
- Springsteen and Scialfa
- Why did Will and Amy split? If you believe the gossip, Will has basically gone "Hollywood". He started by fucking around with his co-star Christina Applegate, and now he's screwing some young teenaged babe.

- POTUS and FLOTUS would be very sad. But I don't think I would be shocked. I'm basing this purely on her bitch-face photos, but she doesn't seem to "suffer fools gladly"

- I always suspected Crowe married Spencer because he really needed a veneer of stability at the time. He got engaged following some very bad public incidents that made him seem out of control and threatened his insurability for films. Spencer was a failed singer, failed actor and failed dancer who had not much going for her in her mid 30s. I think it was less of a "love story" than a marriage that helped both of them career wise - especially Spencer. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did but I am not surprised she took a hike as soon as it was feasible considering his more recent return to earning power.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are OT for this thread. But if you are in any way sad over their break-up - don't be. They were never suited for each other. Brad is much better off now with a family and a woman who seems to be more in love with him than Jennifer ever demonstrated toward him.
I can see being sad over them but I doubt Barack and Michelle would ever divorce though I think he is more into her than she is into him. I'm not a great fan of hers. She just strikes me as more superficial than he is and more interested in looking the part than actually being the part. But they do look fabulous together if I may be superficial.
Bruce and Patti - I thought Bruce's womanizing days never left him. And a groupie who hung around until she caught the star and got pregnant? With 3 kids there was no way he was leaving her as they were growing up.
This may sound weird but I always thought the Connie Chung-Maury Povich romance was sweet and genuine. Despite his appalling TV show I remember Maury back when he had an excellent talk show in D.C. with serious topics of the day and high powered and relevant guests. The show and Maury were very good then for both local and national issues. So I have lingering good will for him.
Shocked by a divorce? Nothing would shock me. It happens and life goes on.
- Anderson Cooper and Ben Maisani. They are a perfect match.

Good thing he's not a fool and she made it very clear at the DNC that she's more in love with him now than she's ever been.
