• I knew a couple both named Kevin.

• No. My first name is very unusual in this country so the likelihood of me dating a guy with the same name is small. I've never known a gay male couple with the same name, but I did know a heterosexual couple named Timmy and Tammy. The man was a bit long in the tooth to be called Timmy. Being around them for more than five minutes could induce a diabetic coma.

• Greg here, dated 1 Greg and 1 Craig.

• We are referred to as "the Jo(h)ns", but most people call me Tippy and they call my partner Jon Jon.

• I'm a Michael who dated another Michael with a similar surname (same initial letter, same number of letters and syllables). We went to the same high school. There was no issue at the time, but 25 years later, a few old classmates with whom I tried to connect on Facebook thought I was the other Michael. As it happened, once a few of these people realized I wasn't he, it was clear they didn't actually remember me at all.
