Entenmann's just brought back their Cinnamon Danish Twist

Dreadfully overpriced, of course, but SUCH MOIST CAK!

• I wish we could get Entenmann's around here.

• When it was introduced years ago in Phoenix, a friend there said folks thought "it's for Jews."

• I was overcome by an Entemann's crumb cake today. It was about three large bites worth, and 360 calories. It insinuated itself into my cupboard and then demanded to be eaten. I was no match for such wiles.

• Their Cinnamon Buns are so fucking stale now, I get my fix from Mini Cinis at Burger King now.

• Freihofers used to made a cinnamon danish with coconut (I think it was a cinnamon crunch danish). OMFG. Those were to die for.

• Ugh, why buy brand name crap in a grocery store? If you're going to splurge on something, go to a local bakery. The ingredients are fresher and you're supporting a local business. Shit like Entenmann's has so many preservatives and chemicals in it. And no taste.

• My mother used to demand that I make a run to the Entemann's factory outlet for her. She wanted doughnut holes.

• A few miles down the road from my house, there is a Freihofer's Factory Outlet. They have not only a whole cake and cookie factory there but also a small store with severely discounted baked goods of all kinds - all their various brands. I went there a few times when I was a kid but have not been back in at least ten years. I can only imagine how many thousands of pounds many of you would weigh given this option. Carry on.

• They don't sell it here anymore but when I was kid I love their chocolate frosted donuts. They tasted different last time I had on though. Not as good, waxy and processed.

I'm not an eldergay, but clearly you live in some dreadful suburb where your only choice for baked goods is the Wal-mart grocery store and the nearest Speedway or Sheetz. There are STILL actual places, big and small, where people go for goods that are made locally! It's magical.

• I dated a baker once. Getting up at 3 a.m. to make the stuff and deliver it by 8 a.m. to all the stores and then head to work. It was hell on earth and didn't pay.

• R22, you amuse me so. Bought my second box of Entenmann's Cinnamon Danish Twist this week. I enjoy their Raspberry Danish Twist, as well. Such moist, delicious CAK!
