NY Times illustration depicts Obama as Django & the maid from "The Help"
Why do white "liberals" like to do things like this?

- Did you happen to notice ALL the movies "starred" Obamas. You make it sound as if they just picked racist ones.
- Usually the famous ones try and do it in private. I consider myself a democrate but the things Iv'e seen and heard coming from white liberals make me sick.
- What r1 said. The illustration shows Obama as several pop figures from current movies.
Are you suggesting, OP, that the illustration should have only showed Obama as whites? Only as non-controversial characters?
I would expect if that had happened instead you would have chocked it up to liberal bias.
- R2 Your spelling reveals you are in fact, a teabagger.

- I am not a teabagger. I don't play games. You mean to tell me that you are not offended by so called liberals who make racist comments? I'm not even talking about this thread. That makes no sense to me.
- Absolutely, r2.
- You mean like black people who are homophobic?
- R5 can you give some examples of so called liberals who make racist comments?
- The best movie if the year, "Les Miserables" is not represented.
- No black people, R9...just the French.
- OP, no one ever died from being offended. Stop concerning yourself with unimportant things that have nothing to do with your life.
LCSW
- OP, did you actually read the story the illustration was drawn for?
- All presidents since John Adams have been parodied mercilessly in print and cartoon form. This is no mark of distinction. Treating the first black president with greater deference on account of his skin color would be a racist practice.
- NY Times is not liberal.
