I'm looking to read something light and funny along the lines of these writers. Any suggestions?
Any gossip about them is fine too!
The two funniest gay novels I've read are "California Screaming" and "Misadventures in the (213)". And there's David Sedaris for a non-fiction variant, as well as Paul Rudnick's hilarious autobiography "I Shudder".
R1 gives you two really good choices. Dennis Hensley's 'Screening Party is A LOT of fun too'. Not really, fiction per se .... more like essays written about movies in the voices of Dennis and his friends. Funny shit though. It reads like you're with the characters as they're watching the movies (all campy things like 'Flashdance', 'Glitter', etc)
Well worth tracking down on Amazon.
Wish that bitch Hensley would write more. Reminds me to go check out his blog. It's been ages.
I second Screening Party. The articles on Jaws an Pretty Woman had me crying with laughter.
Thank you, everyone. I'm ordering all four of these titles.
Anybody else have suggestions?
