Jeremy Renner Lists Art Deco Mansion for $24.95 Million

Actor Jeremy Renner is best-known for his action-packed roles in blockbusters such as “The Bourne Legacy” and “The Avengers,” but the two-time Oscar nominee also has a knack for real estate, having flipped several Los Angeles-area homes with his business partner over the years. His latest project, a 10,000-square-foot Beverly Glen estate, is now on the market for $24.95 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

• There is a piece in Variety on Kristopher Winters and this house. He says that predominantly, he is the interior designer and Renner is the buider. He says Renner's obsession is the flow of a property, so I guess that means function, form and proportion. It also puts the amazing decor and 'gay' styling well into Winters' area of responsibility. It is interesting that Renner has said he isn't gay and we all know that his relationship with Winters is the biggest single piece of 'evidence' used against him, but he is not backing away from Winters. They talk about each in the press and they are still often seen together. This is a very strong partnership. Give Renner a couple of years to get over his action hero phase, he said he intends to retire at 45 and do only what he wants. If they don't come out as a couple at that point, then I will accept that he is straight and they have adopted each other as brothers. I'm beginning to really hope he is straight and they really are that close and loyal. If they are a couple then all the lying and plotting that must have taken place is far less appealing.

• Did Renner come from money? He came out of nowhere a few years ago but seems to have already been a wealthy man as a bit player.

• He stated on Letterman that he and his partner started years ago with a 500K house, and their ambition and pocketbooks have steadily increased over the years. He said that they are only interested in buildings of special architectural or historical importance. He clearly said that they did all the design, from the lighting to the fabrics. I got a stronge vibe that his partner may be trained in interior design. The one strange part of the revelation(to me anyway) was he said that the two of them LIVE in sleeping bags in their project of the moment during the entire process. Even if they are partners in the sense of romance, wouldn't you think at this point they would hole up at the Chateau or similar?? For the record IMHO I did not get a ping. I am the pingingest bitch on the planet, so it's not as if I want him to be straight. Secondly, only an out gay or a man so confident in his sexuality would yammer on and on about his design partner with whom he bunks. Just sayin', if the man wants to keep his options open as to being cast in leading roles, and he is in fact closeted, he SURE didn't act like it.

• R30 He definately doesn't come from money, I know Joss Whedon described him as very working class in one of his interviews. I know he used his contract for SWAT to buy into his first property with Winters and up to that point I think he was living pretty much in poverty in some sort of actor's commune. None of the films between then and the Hurt Locker would have earned him large sums, but by the HL they were flipping multimillion dollar properties. I think they just kept selling and reinvesting, hence living in sleeping bags. I get the impression he has never lived alone in a property or had a home in the 'normal' sense.

• R31 - I agree with you that for someone in the closet he isn't hiding. In the promo interviews for the Unusuals, before he was well known, he was asked what was unusual about him. Amber Tamblyn came up with something pretty harmless, but it was Renner who said he had been a make-up artist which was very unusual for a straight guy. In fact he has brought that up over and over again, like he is proud of it or thinks it is funny.Plus when he talks about the house flipping he always mentions his partner and he doesn't have to. Then there is the oscar thing. As a good friend would Collin Farrell have teased everyone like that if Renner was in the closet? That is the sort of behaviour you get from confident hetrosexual men and happily out men, not men in the closet.

• My sense is that he is gay and he is sort of dancing this sad dance around that fact. The Letterman interview was one of those typical preinterview interviews. Dave not doing a great job of protecting the agreed upon "let's not go there" subject of his partner by using the term buddy several times. It had such a false ring to it. I love Letterman's wicked and oh so typical dig by asking if his buddy was Clooney. Face it, Renner can't come out and have the film career he has worked so hard to achive and he made the mistake early on of not fabricating a good cover or back story.

• Letterman was definately having a bit of a dig, but was it at Renner or the rumour mill? Anyway that is irrelevant, they clearly agreed on the topic and Renner never flinched from using the word partner. Gorgeous supermodel? More like knocked up party girl. How is that whole thing anything but an embarrassing mistake? He has top representation, loads of friends who have been in the spotlight for ages to advise him, plenty of money to find the right surrogate and plenty of time to plan it. Are we really saying this is the best they could come up with?
