Who will win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress of 2012?

• Anne is widely seen in the press as a lock this year, which is weird since she's not won any of the major critics' awards. No one seems to like Sally's big freakout scene in her son's bedroom, which is too bad since the actual mary Todd Lincoln was apparently very much like this when she freaked out. Otherwise people really liked Sally's performance. But Anne has been christened the favorite. I would give it to Weaver myself.

• Anne hit every possible note in her Oscar-grab performance: Playing a hooker, suffering for her art, uglying up, losing a few years before, having a big commercial hit in recent memory, and being genuinely good. Critics don't tend to care about these things, but the AMPAS does.

• Please, everybody! Her name is spelled 'AnnE' or 'Ann', but NEVER 'Anne'. Get with the program. Secondly, AnnE is going to lose, because everybody is tired of her bullshit. This will be one of the rare cases where the points mentioned by r2 are going to work against a nominee. AnnE, as a package, has become too much. Finally, what makes you think they'll let Amy Adams suffer a fourth time? This is an important factor. Think more independently, please. Adams will be the surprise winner in this category.

• "everybody is tired of her bullshit." A few fangirls are tired of her bullshit, not "everyone", and probably not the AMPAS. Unlike fangirls, they tend to approve of humorless ambition and open lust for awards, which makes them feel both important and loved.

• Maybe it will be a tie between Sally and AnnE, just like on DL!!!
