Jack Black was actually good in this. I don't remember the true story at all that it was based on. Did anyone know any of the real players of this sordid little saga?

• I also saw this. It was a real gem and Jack Black was great in it (he's best when he doesn't try to be funny). From what I've been told the movie glosses over a few points. A lot of people in the town wanted to see Bernie fry whereas the movie makes it seem as if everyone supported him. Bernie was also very generous to certain "male friends". While the movie shows his generosity, it makes no allusion 'male friends'. BTW, that's McBongo's mother as one of the townspeople.
