Seems to me it just reinforced the worst possibly stereotypes that gays aren't suited for certain jobs because they can't control their "urges". Doctors and nurses, gay or straight, DON'T flirt with patients period. It's totally unprofessional behavior and it was very bad judgment on Ron Carlivati's part to allow the scenes even though they were clearly played for laughs. Not laughing, Ron.
- When it comes down to it, Ron's just another straight guy who sees gays as comic relief. I'm sure Frank would've put his foot down if he had read the script. He'd be the last person to want to see gay guys portrayed as stereotypes. Sometimes he puts too much faith in Ron, for good and for bad. This time, for bad.
