LONDON Naomi Campbell is suing The Daily Telegraph for libel over an article claiming that she was planning an elephant polo tournament in India as part of her Russian billionaire boyfriend's Vladislav Doronin 50th birthday celebrations. The allegations prompted letters of complaint and protests outside the party venue. The model filed a claim against Telegraph Media Group at the high court in London. Her lawyers released a statement which read... "We have issued legal proceedings on behalf of Ms Campbell against The Telegraph, who were the original publishers of these allegations... We are instructed to pursue this matter until it is satisfactorily resolved. The allegations caused damage to our client - apart from the widespread repetition of the allegations, there were also protests outside the venue, and Indian government departments who wrote to us."
