What is the worst nomination in this year's Oscars?
The academy should not be nominating children for awards. They are not practicing any kind of craft at six years of age. They have no real understanding of what they are doing.

Hathaway will win the poll since this is DL, but Arkin and Weaver did almost nothing, certainly not enough to merit oscar nominations.
If they wanted to give Argo an acting nom they should have nominated Bryan Cranston. Weaver got in because they loved the film.
Jessica Chastain. Great actress but such a nothing role.
r5 is totally right on this one. Chastain was great in "The Help" but not that brilliant in "Zero Dark Thirty".

Chastain always thanks her grandmother in her speeches...but never her parents...hmmmm. Did her grandmother raise her?

Spielberg. The directors who nominate directors were not taking chances that Affleck, Biegelow, or Hooper were going to win.

Production Design for Les Miserables.
Most of the background was fuzzy with all of the close ups.
R11, not to mention when you could see them, the sets looked fake and cheap as hell. Why is it that LINCOLN, which had more or less the same production budget as LES MIZ, had better-looking and more realistic sets?
Les mis for picture. Just horrible. Would have been left out were it not for the new rules.

She is not Howard's daughter. His daughter is Bryce Dallas Howard, who was also in THE HELP as the basty bitch Hilly.
She and Chastain do look a bit alike.
The worst nomination is Phoenix. His performance was truly grotesque, practically a caricature of Method acting. I'm sure it was what Anderson wanted, but that just goes to his own poor judgement as a director.
Jackman doesn't belong on the list either, but clearly he is popular enough to oversome his underwhelming performance.
