The woman, in her 40s, was injured in the incident. She suffered several cuts and a few broken bones, but police say her injuries are not life-threatening.
Police charged Spivey with 11 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony hit and run, injury to real property and reckless operation of a vehicle.

- Well, I guess we need to ban cars too.
I wish the details of the content of the fight was in the article. It would be funny if the store owner was a gun owner, and the maniac was in favor of banning guns.
- R1, thy dimness hath slain this thread.
- Heterosexual males have a high revenge drive. Remember that. If heterosexual males feel they have been wronged they likely will act out.
- So, was he defending gay marriage and the woman is a homophobe?
Or was he spewing teabagger hate speech and the woman stood up to him?
I need to know whose side to be on.
- What is it with North Carolinian restaurants?
- R4-
If he was a liberal calling for gun control, and she kicked him out, you would defend him?
- R4, I think I already know enough to know that I am not siding with the character who ran his car into a restaurant trying to hurt the woman who disagreed with him.
- Sounds like another hot-headed freeper.
- And WE are the drama queens? We just punch and delete.

- the fact that the report deliberately omitted who was on which political side proves that the offender is a Rethuglican.
If the assailant was a non-white person, that newspaper would have pointed out THAT fact.

- Men are so emotionally unstable.
- R11 = man-hating dyke
- Actually R10, he's a registered Democrat
- Actually, R13, you have no proof of that, so STFU.
- Actually R14, I do, so why don't YOU STFU
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A man accused of driving into a Wilmington restaurant Friday night made his first appearance in court today and told a judge he is crazy.
911 calls from Katy's Bar and Grill described a chaotic scene.
"We just had a car drive into Katy's and then flee," a caller told 911. "They're in a green Civic heading south on College Road."
[bold] Police say Jacob Spivey, a registered Democrat, [/bold] drove into the bar and then left after getting into a political argument with another customer. Two people were hurt, including one woman whose hip was broken.
Katy's owner Katy Monaghan says she is working to rebuild and recover.
"We got to patch it up and keep on plugging," Monaghan said.
Monday, Spivey made his first court appearance. His demeanor was erratic and his attention span short.
The judge asked why Spivey should get a court-appointed attorney when his family was able to pay $10,000 to bond him out of jail. That's when a prosecutor said Spivey said relatives paid the bond because he is crazy.
Spivey's mother, who says she lives with her son, told the judge he is getting treatment for some illness, but she never said what.

- Lawls at R12/R15 claiming he has proof.
- We've be lead to believe that Democrats are caring, compassionate, and totally accepting. Looks like there's a Fascist amongst them in Wilmington.
- Well, it's about time, I was beginning to think the Democratic Party were all saints.
Never put anyone or anything too far up on a pedestal, it's just better that way.
