What are some TV spin-offs you would have liked to have seen created?

My picks: "Beauty by Arthur"- spin-off of the hair salon episodes of "Roseanne" (with the ditzy blonde re-cast). Mrs. Wellman and Crystal would be recurring characters. Roseanne would make occasional appearances as a client. "The Pooles"-spin-off of "Valerie's Family"-Edie McClurg would have been a blast in her own sitcom. I would definitely not have cast Willard Scott as her husband, though. A better version of "The Golden Palace": Don Cheadle was miscast as the heavy. Cheech Marin, well, enough said. I would have cast Elaine Stritch as the surly head of housekeeping (shades of Bea Arthur's sarcasm); a very-flirty Blanche-type at the front desk(?); Anthony Head (Mr.Gilles on "Buffy") as the ever-so-proper English general manager; and a rotating cast of incompetent cooks (hired by Rose, no less). What would be your picks?

• Marcia Brady, moving to a big city after high school. Done in a breezy, slightly sexy way like 'That Girl' and not at all silly like 'Brady Bunch'. Batgirl. Kalinda, leaving Lockhart/Gardner on 'The Good Wife' and striking out on her own as an investigator.

• DATA: VEGAS Commander Data is caught in a temporal rift and finds himself in 21st century Las Vegas with nothing to help him but superior logic and programmed sexual performance skills covering 2,300 cultures and species. Rent Bot by Day, Private Investigator by Night! Will he find his way home? And will he want to? A greatly aged Kate Mulgrew plays a Kaye-Ballard-type chips girl at Data's HQ casino. He keeps telling her she reminds him of someone, but his memory panels have been slightly damaged in the time leap. Also, other Star Trek alumni pop in playing contemporary characters. The running gag is - you got it - they all remind him of someone! (And of course they all will appear for peanuts. Only Wil Wheaton is never invited to appear. But, no, no one from the current film group will turn up.)

• I liked Helen Hunt's character's sister in Mad About You. Also, Paul Reiser's character's cousin was so much more cheerful and fun than Paul.

• "The XXX-Files - The Intense Erotic Adventures of Mulder and Scully" (still played by Duchovny and Anderson). I'd love to watch Mulder and Krycek get it on. Or Mulder and Skinner. Or Mulder and...

• "A Great Big Bed of Roses" -- Waitress Barrie Youngfellow gets swept off her feet by a millionaire and thrust into a life of luxury she isn't quite prepared for. They could burn off some old "Angie" scripts and no one would know the difference.

• R5 - Idid too. Anne Ramsay would have done well in leading role too.

• Life in Babylon: The Queer as Folk spin off about a group of gaylings trying re-open The gay hot spot Babylon after the previous owner lost interest and decided to follow his true love. The first season (six one hour episodes) deals with the introduction of the main characters, their motivations why they want to re-open the club (through flashbacks of memories), the problems they face to bring the club back to life, and how their other friends and families deal with the main casts' obsession with the club. All in all the series deals with modern day gay lifestyle and some of its interpretations (monogamy, promiscuity, barebacking, assimilation, internet, cruising, obsession with youth and beauty, etc.). The second season main message is 'careful what you wish for it may come true!' where the main cast deals with the struggle to keep the club open with all the problems they have to face now (employees selling drugs, police raids, health inspection issues, opposition from gay and straight conservative groups, trying to shut the club down, main cast turning on each other for petty reasons, etc.). With hot extras and a kick-ass club soundtrack.

• "Peaks and Valleys" - Billy Chenowith from "Six Feet Under" and Gloria Trillo from "The Sopranos" get married after meeting during a thunderstorm in New Jersey where Billy was taking photographs

• Actually, those whacky Chenowiths wold have been a great spinoff. Would have loved seeing more of Jeremey Sisto and Joanna Cassidy.

• I never understood that whole hair salon storyline on "Roseanne." They spent quite a few episodes developing her working there and the salon characters and then it was just suddenly dropped and got a throwaway line explanation in a later episode. Was that when Tom Arnold came in and shook everything up? Even though they did revolve quite a few episodes around the salon, it did always feel like a spinoff situation. Was Roseanne trying to establish a ready crossover series for the Asian woman who starred with her in "She Devil"?

• I desperately wanted a Will & Grace apinoff where the main characters were newlyweds Beverley Leslie and Lorraine Finster. Maybe they steal Rosario away from Karen Walker and we see an occasional (sweepsweek) Megan Mullally appearance. But not Jack. He dies before my spinoff takes place.

• The "ditzy blonde" from the Roseanne salon episodes was actually Melora Walters, who was so great in "Magnolia" and played Bill's sister-in-law on "Big Love."

• I always wanted John Wesley Shipp's cop character from NYPD Blues to have a spin-off show in which he would slap his bare ass in every episode.

• Seinfeld's Newman in a spin-off. Don't know why this was never done.

• "Murder, He/She Wrote". Jessica Fletcher's old friend who transitioned from male to female uses his/her skills to solve murder cases in Provincetown (Savannah would also work as the setting.)

• "The Scooby Doo True Life Mysteries" -- an animated Saturday morning series where Scooby and Shaggy takes viewers on re-enactments of real murders and mysteries such as the Manson Family murders, Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, Gary Heidnik, etc.

• I would have liked it if Heath Barkley had been spun off into a series where we get to see all Heath, all the time.

• ONE MORE DAY AT A TIME Julie leaves home to track down her father, meets an older man in a bar and has a torrid affair with him, and guess what?
