Yes, I read Rod Stewart and Alana Stewart's books back to back.

It might've been my nadir of celebrity bios. They tell very different stories about their relationship. WHET Ashley Hamilton? Damn, he was fine.

• I enjoyed Rod's book, shallow as it was. Is Alana's worth a read?

• What were the different stories OP. Could you elaborate a bit for those of us who havent read both books. I read excerpts from Rod's book and laughed out loud at some of them. Much wittier than I thought he'd be.

• After his humiliation on "Dancing With the Stars," Ashley has changed his name and become a drug dealer.

• Rod's book was very funny. He's a charmer and a bit of narcissist, which Alana calls him out on. I had no idea how close he was to Elton John. I really enjoyed his book and the kindle suggested Alana's so I read it. Night and day description of their relationship. She was spunky and had a bit of personality and then she hooked up with him. He was really controlling of her time, friends and life. He was also insanely jealous and did things like get mad at her when she was bedridden and pregnant. She admits that she was demanding of his time but there was so little of it when he wasn't on tour. She seems like a bit of a piece of work herself but her childhood was extremely grim. Full of a poverty and a pillhead mother who abandoned her several times. Sean Stewart seems like a sad case. Once Rod divorced Alana he sort of divorced the whole family too. He literally never saw Ashley again (not his kid but they were living together etc). It was weird to like him so much and then read Alana's account.

• My favourite Rod/Elton story = Both became (rich) stars about the same time. For Christmas, Elton bought Rod a Picasso. Rod bought Elton a fridge.

• Basically what R5 said. George Hamilton wasn't a prize either. Ashley was on DWTS? Was her terrible? Alana didn't mention his Shannen Doherty marriage. I do remember Sean from Celebrity Rehab (I think) I remember he was a bit of a shit stirring douche. Can't remember his drug of choice though. Rod says he finally quit doing coke in the early 2000s but claims he never bought any.
