I want to break every afternoon for tea.

And biscuits. What a perfectly lovely feature of one's day.

• I used to work for a company in NYC that was owned by a British company. They, of course, sent some Brits over to "see how things were done in our office in the States." One of the employees applied for and received a Visa and stayed (he eventually married an American girl, natch). He turned us onto these FAB digestive biscuits from McVittie's (?). After that, we stared taking a break between 3 and 3:30 pm, schedules permitting, to "have a cuppa and some biscuits." A local Bed, Bath and Beyond here in NJ has an "international market" section. They now see the biscuits. Good times.

  What the hell is a digestive biscuit, anyway?

• I add a bag of liver - support dandelion leaf tea (doesn't taste like anything) to my black tea. Feels good after and I think that I do get an extra boost. Has cumulative effects.

• Those damn biscuits are addictive.

• You don't have to work for a British person to drink tea. I am the grandchild of Irish immigrants and started drinking tea with milk in my baby bottle. Just get some tea, some hot water, a cup and whatever else you want to put in that cup. There's nothing really foreign or exotic or healthful about it. You just drink your tea instead of coffee, cola, mountain dew or bottled water. Real simple. You can eat something with your tea if you like. Or not. It's just flavored hot water with or without foodstuff. You needn't fret about how to do it or should you do it. They will even make it for you at Starbucks.
