Can someone help me get rid of this obsession? (How do you stop loving someone who's passed away?)

I am madly in love with Heath Ledger. The depressing fact is that he is deceased. There isn't even the slightest chancec that I will ever meet him in real life. How do you stop loving someone who's passed away?

• You're trying to avoid intimacy, OP, by loving someone who couldn't be more unavailable. You also fear rejection.

• You can appreciate a deceased artist's work and be frustrated about how they died, but if you're obsessed with their work, there's something else happening. I like a few singers who are deceased, including a singer who was killed in a boating accident. I occasionally get sad about how they died, but that really doesn't ultimately affect my enjoyment of her music. If you can't think of anything else, there's something in your life that his work or his death is a symbol of, and it's time to get some help. Therapy is fantastic. Wish you the best.

• R12, people transfer things in their own life to a less scary symbol all the time. OP just has a serious case of transference.

• OP's your idiocy isn't the fact that you're in love with a dead person, it's the fact that you're delusional enough to think that had he been alive, it would be any different. Get psychiatric help. That is, if you're not just trolling.
