I will once the Golden Globes are over. I have a huge crush on Lip.
I am. Although I wish the show was more gritty and approached poverty in a more realistic way, it's really good fun to watch.
Harry Hamlin looks great.
Kinda meh for a season beginning, but I'll keep watching
Can someone explain what the deal was with the shooting? I can't remember everything from last season.
I really feel like i missed soemthing. There were so many scenes in the "what happened previously" bit at the beginning that I had never seen before. And I swear I watched through the finale last season!
So, where the hell did Harry Hamlin come from? I never saw the baby being delivered! Did I just miss the finale somehow, or did I miss more episodes than that?
On another note, the sexy naked guy that was killed ... damn he was hot. Anyone know who he is or have any other pictures of him?
(that was a pretty horrifying scene for a comedy)
R6, Harry Hamlin was in the second or third last episode of the season. Ian hooked up with him (before he knew who he was), and it turns out he's Jimmy/Steve's dad.
I thought the baby was delivered in the finale, but it might have been in the episode before the finale, I'm not sure.
What's going on with Jimmy/Steve's involvement with the guy who was shot? The father of the daughter he was in a fake marriage with has never been seen before, and what the hell was the deal with him? Can someone explain?
The problem with shows like these is that the hiatus is so long you forget some of the plot details.
Jimmy/Steve was involved with some drug lord down in Brazil and he got in trouble and owed them some money. That's why the drug lord forced Jimmy/Steve to marry his daughter. I guess he came back to check up on them and wasn't especially happy when he realized that he didn't take the marriage seriously. Jimmy/Steve is still in debt with them.
You really should watch the couple last episodes last season. Everything is explained. It seems like you missed a lot.
Thanks, r9. I did watch the last two eps of S2 but it was a while ago and I couldn't remember everything.
R6 here again... I'm not sure how I missed an episode, but come to think of it, my DVR did die sometime last spring. It might have taken an episode with it and I forgot all about it.
I'm going to have to find the episodes online somewhere. Does anyone stream them? Showtime? Netflix?
I really feel like there's a big gap here and I really can't remember exactly how that happened. Dammit.
Back to my question: Any info on the hot naked guy who was shot in the head?
r11 go to tvlinks.com. They have all the eps streaming.
There's not enough Ian and too much Fiona and the interracial couple. The bit about Frank in Mexico was funny though.
I love all the scenes with Ian and Lip together. They play off of one another so well.
I enjoyed another peek at Jimmy's golden globes.
The Voice of the Night
Interesting to see Harry Hamlin trying take care of Ian and he thinks that is too intimate because he has it bad for mickey.
Lip is still a minor? Was surpried by that. not sure he would really get a slap on the wrist for stealing such expensive equipment
A lot of jimmy in this one, the whole thing with the drug lords daughter is probably going be some big source of drama for him and Fiona which will get old.
Solid but not amazing opener but happy to have this show ack and the preview for the season looked good. Wish this show got more press, it is damn good and has some prominent gay storylines. (also I might be gay but Vs breast...were some impressive boobies)
Love this show. Not crazy about Jimmy's mob boss story line it just feels too over-the-top. I'm hoping it wont drag on too much.
Looks like a good season for Ian's story line with two love interests.
I weep for William H Macy's career for being part of this trashy drek.
The most unbelievable thing about this show is that Ian is the top in his 'relationship' with Mickey.
I swear we saw just a bit of Jimmy peen in that final scene, when he turned back...
SCREEN CAPS, PEOPLE!!
I tried capping the hot naked guy, there were a few frames when I thought he was naked...fucking cock sock.
At least Jimmy went all the way.
[quote] Jimmy/Steve was involved with some drug lord down in Brazil and he got in trouble and owed them some money. That's why the drug lord forced Jimmy/Steve to marry his daughter. A little convoluted to sustain. I hope they simplify this and soon. Like a lot of shows, this one runs the risk of carrying too much baggage along from characters and plot lines from previous seasons. A level of complexity is one thing, but at some point, some house cleaning needs to take place when it comes to endless loose ends. And, like a lot of shows, the strength of this one is rooted in the simpler not the more fantastic elements.
R23 the biggest problem with this 'plot' is that Jimmy comes from a rich family. He can get money at any time, finish medical school if he wants.
I weep for William H Macy's career for being part of this trashy drek.
William is the best on this show.
I can't think of anyone else who could play Frank.
R25 Any drunk off the street.
Any caps yet?
New ep last night. Nice to see the return of Mickey, I do think he and Ian have good chemistry together.
Lips scam seemed a little ridiculous. No one questioned the random unadvertised concert happening? Liked him confronting Fiona as she did act ridiculously careless.
I have not seen it yet...but what is to question about a random concert?
I'm really enjoying this season so far.
I saw a few recent episodes (late to the party) yesterday and am hooked. I do think they make their home life seem way too out of control 24/7. I get dizzy with all the choreographed chaos. It's all just a bit OTT.
Why doesn't someone come and take those kids away with all the shit that goes on in that house?
What's up with Joan Cusack and her constantly screaming asian baby with the helmet?
Where is the mother? Dead?
The baby belongs to Joan's daughter, the daughter wanted to abandon the baby so mom took him.
Someone has to alert someone to come take the kids away, and no one in a neighborhood like that would alert anyone.
The mother of the kids is a part time lesbian manic depressive with suicidal tendencies, she comes and pops in sometimes...she also had a drug problem.
[quote] Someone has to alert someone to come take the kids away, and no one in a neighborhood like that would alert anyone.
Someone needs to watch the January 20 episode.
I love the nudity of the Colombian boyfriend as was being shot in the head. Total hottie.
Hottie with a cock sock.
FYI, the actor who plays Jimmy played Tom Cruise's son in WAR OF THE WORLD.
Are we supposed to hate him because he was in some shitty Tom Cruise movie?
Please, the show is one steaming pile of shit but oh so watchable.
All the guys wear cock socks unless it's necessary to the plot. Steve Howey showed cock in the pilot that closeted Ian saw. Zach McGowan showed to get Lip jealous that Karen's new boyfriend was hung.
Sorry, but Williams H. Macy is terrible and is not talented enough to make this character loveable. There is no reason after everything Frank has done to the family that they haven't kicked him to death and fed him to junkyard dogs years ago. Amazing how they manage to get thousands of dollars each time at the last minute yet live in squalor. The only reason to watch is the nudity, well except William H Macy, even Felicity doesn't want to see that anymore.
R28 I can easily buy the parking scam, as my brothers and I pulled it a couple of times at street festivals in Chicago. The concert scam I'm not so sure about, but given the target 'audience' I would think they might have been dumb enough to fall for it.
Anyone else find Lip ugly/hot?
I find Lip SEXY/hot, R40.
Hate, hate, hate William H. Macy in this. I almost wish they'd kill Frank off. It's a little tired watching him come home, steal money, piss on something or get pissed on, then take off for months at a time again.
Frank isn't supposed to be likeable--ever. I think they did a good job last year showing how Frank was the way he was when they had his mother show up.
In the UK version--Frank is always despicable.
Agree with R41. Even the most hopeless drunks have their moments when they can be likable or at least they are cunning enough to fake it to get something they want out of people--gaining trust only to let people down over an over. But no one has any reason to like or trust Frank at all in this show, so why don't they just change the locks?
[QUOTE]Frank isn't supposed to be likeable--ever.
Well, maybe not to the audience, but obviously the family and even the neighborhood like him. They forgive, forget or get involved in his shenanigans time and time again. So that makes it even more ridiculous because they give no reason at all why he is still alive.
r44 - that's why Al Anon exists. There are plenty of codependents that will do anything for alcoholics, no matter how much it harms them.
Having grown up in an environment like that and with people like them, I cannot watch the show. It is unbearable and not sexy in any way. Dirt, cigarettes, stale beer, bad breath and body odor - forget it.
It was Frank who called family services...not anyone in the neighborhood but a vengeful drunk.
I'm a little late to this show with a couple questions -
How is the interracial couple related to the family?
Who are the parents of the baby who lives in the house?
The interracial couple are just friends of the family who live near by, R49. Veronica is close with Fiona (Emmy Rossum), and Kevin is close with Lip. Kevin also runs the bar that Frank (William H. Macy) frequents.
And the parents of the baby are William H. Macy (he apparently had a black relative) and Chloe Webb, who plays their bipolar absentee mother.
Anyone watch tonight?
Why don't we ever see anyone taking care of the baby in any scenes? It's always a lot of running around, people coming in and out, arguing, eating, fucking, and a lot of times the baby is MIA or sitting in a high chair ignored.
Do the older kids get any foster care money for taking care of the little ones. If not, someone needs to get on that...like right away.
Jealous Mickey is so sexy. I hope they finally explore he and Ian's relationship beyond the sex.
Do we really want to see a bunch of scenes of taking care of a baby R52? Doesn't really make for exciting television. The real issue is that at least a year and a half has passed since the show started and the baby is still...a baby. It should be older but I guess they can't figure out how to work a toddler into the show. Its pretty ridiculous though.
And I think that is what they are doing R53. Basically since he got it has been Ian trying to work out if Mickey actually cares for him and getting him to admit that. The guy that plays Mickey does such a great job IMO.
Overall I liked it but Franks antics with Carl are yawn and I don't like the chick that plays Mindy. They need to quit giving her more focus because the actress ain't that great, and looks like it continues next week.
I would like to see more awkward scenes with Ian/Jimmy/Jimmy father and family.
Carl and Debbie are the ethos of the show now, which is a total retcon. I can live with this as there is a much more cohesive aspect to the family. Still, the writers do not seem to grasp that she show's "get" is poverty and not quirky exploits (bar Sheila).
Love the Ian/Micky/Harry Hamlin storyline and overall this season is palatable - if not as funny as the last two. I remember last season picking up as it went on, hopefully this is the case here.
Too many storylines. The laser robot wars stuff was so stupid--we get it, the guy's a genius. They need to dump the mafia storyline and the inter-racial couple. The scenes that "shock" (eg, slavery porn) are so stupid and serve no purpose other than to shock. This is a sign of bad writing.
This Mandy is a replacement, right? Didn't Mandy from season one go on to play the lead in SUBURGATORY? Or did I dream that?
Agreed about the Mickey/Ian stuff from this episode. So much better than the UK version in this regard.
The mafia storyline bores me just like when they did it on weeds.
I stopped watching weeds after that.
You are right R58. The original (and much better) Mandy left after the first season.
I agree with you in some respects R57 but they should absolutely not dump "the interracial couple" (Also it seems silly me that people refer to them as that, idk, the fact that people dating happen to be of different races barely registers with me). Kev and V are great well acted characters that should always be part of the show IMO.
Kev and V are great characters, and Fiona desperately needs friends like them, with all the insanity she's living with.
Last night's episode was one of the best so far, I was laughing out loud at the scenes with Lip and the sex offender teacher.
Ian's storyline has been sorely neglected in the first 2 seasons and they need to give him more screen time this year. Mickey is by far the most entertaining character on the show.
Fiona and Frank have had so much focus already that their storylines are getting repetitive and boring. The kids are a lot more interesting.
ITA with R57 except for Kev and V-- I like them. Mafia storyline = boring.
[quote] The laser robot wars stuff was so stupid--we get it, the guy's a genius.
How would they have gotten the thousands for the property tax? Actually get a job?
[quote] They need to dump the mafia storyline
Then Fiona would have a normal relationship and they can't have that.
[quote]This Mandy is a replacement, right? Didn't Mandy from season one go on to play the lead in SUBURGATORY? Or did I dream that?
Yes, she didn't do nudity. This chick is never dressed.
Harry Hamlin ass in this episode.
I like this show, but, this season, they seem to be using envelope pushing to wink at the audience instead of create meaningful story. And there's too much of a focus on capers, rather than realism. I also think that Frank is best in small doses. The focus should be on the kids. As much as I love justin chatwin (and his frequent nudity) he always feels out of place. They need to do a better job of integrating his story lines with the rest of the family.
That girl who plays Debbie breaks my heart.
Justin Chatwin is such a cutie. This season seems a little off-track or something. Not really liking the vibe.
I still love this show. It just makes me smile. My question is, is Frank the same on the British production? He seems like a character that you love to hate, but ultimately loves his family without showing it. But with Macy playing him, I just hate Frank. Completely hate him. Are we supposed to? And as much as I love Emmy Rossum in this, some of her line readings bother me. You can tell she tries too hard with a blue collar accent sometimes and it sounds weird.
The British Frank is just as detestable as the American one. And he's had many more seasons of horrible things to do. (Final season begins next Tuesday, BTW). AT this point, I don't think a single child still speaks to him with the possibility of Carl, who thinked moved away with his girlfriend last year.
But the show has also shifted focus to the MacGuires, called the Miloslevics in the U.S.
Frank is probably MORE hateful in the British show. The actor playing him (who I think created the show, right?) comes off like a true Neanderthal.
I actually think casting Macy was a huge mistake. He's playacting at something he just can't do convincingly. Macy's no brute. As a result, you keep expecting there to be something more to Frank than there is.
The British Frank is infinitely more entertaining in his lack of layers.
Did anyone see yesterday's Shameless yet? Ian is fucking his boyfriend when the boyfriend's father walks in. But if you pause the DVR, you get to see Ian's penis and he's cut.
Last night's ep. was great. The smug, pretentious, rich gay couple had me laughing because I've met that couple 1000 fucking times in my life.
I think yesterday was one of the most over the top eps they have done, crazy stuff. I didnt think the V and her mom thing would go all the way to a threesome.
Ian and Mickey continue to give some of the best scenes, mainly because Noel Fisher is so damn good. I thought there was a flash of Ians cock there.
How old are Lip and Ian supposed to be now? Wasn't Lip a senior in high school in the first season and Ian just a year younger? I think the show may be taking dramatic license with their ages.
The actors playing Lip and Ian are fantastic and I love their scenes together, but they are both looking a bit too old to still be under 18.
Ian in real life is only 19.
I want to see Ian's penis! Are there pics?
I don't know how to do it from my tv to computer but someone on here can probably do it. You can clearly see it and he's not exactly soft but not hard either. He cups his crotch when he turns around but when he's putting on his boxers he takes his hands away and you can see it and you can tell he is cut.
Filing papers to adopt a kid who's just been apprehended is a little unrealistic, particularly when the 'investigation' hasn't been completed.
Is Mike Doyle, who played the white half of the Gay Robot couple, out?
The Voice of the Night
Mike Doyle was the only reason to watch that dreckish Gifted Man. Well, except for Patrick Wilson.
I keep trying to like it, but it's so cartoonish.
This week they wasted so many storylines--the gay couple, the guys in the group home, Fiona swinging the case worker to her side--there were half a dozen things that would made an interesting hour of television, but they blow right past them, and on to next week where they'll touch on half a dozen completely new things.
Was there even a second where you worried that the family was separated and the kids were torn apart? Hell, you don't make an investment because you know that it all works out in the end. It's nothing but a bunch of 3 minute sketches knitted together.
Yes, I realize it's a comedy, but you still need to give it some structure.
Can't believe people are into Lip. He's so fucking ugly! Like a crack baby grown up. The beak, jew hair, wonky eyes, wack forehead... Yuck.
The last season of Shameless UK starts back on tv tonight. The original Lip is back too.
Lip's not the best looking, granted, but he's sexy. Like you know he'd be a good fuck. There are plenty of 'Ken dolls' out there who have zero sex appeal that I wouldn't want to even spend a minute with, particularly because they're usually completely into themselves. Lip has tremendous sex appeal.
I love Kev & V's big fat white social worker who talks like a sassy black woman, and that V barely reacts to the exaggerated posing, like it's normal and unremarkable in her world.
I did not understand the effects used in the fuzzy, circular flashback scene though.
Link not working R80 where is it from?
R87 I can understand that, Ciaran Griffiths who played Mickey Maguire had that quality in spades. All the Maguire boys were fug fuckable. Lip, is straight up ugly. But I get a feeling he was cast based on the face, that he actually looks like he would be Frank's son. His 35 year old son.
Agree, R85. There could have been some good dramatic stories if they were flushed out a bit more, even with all the crazy stuff going on.
I'm confused about the ages too. I think that maybe on the show, less than two years have gone by, but I thought Lip was already about 17 when the show started. I know Lip had dropped out of school for a bit, but it seems like he's been on the verge of graduating for the last three seasons.
Junior, drop out, senior. He graduates this year.
I want a repost of R80's pic somewhere.
R87 is dead on. There's just something ineffably sexy about him. There's not a decent feature on his face, but I want him BAD.
Ian, too. I hope R80 finds a way to repost that pic. Dying to see it.
[quote]Filing papers to adopt a kid who's just been apprehended is a little unrealistic, particularly when the 'investigation' hasn't been completed.
Honey, Realism has nothing to do with this show. As stated above it's a live action cartoon. Nothing makes sense. Fiona could have gotten rid of Frank by having the town find the dead Aunt. It's all rather silly, but entertaining with lots of nudity. Lots.
Cameron Monaghan is strangely hot on this show.
Does anyone else think Lip looks like a young
R97 - he does look like a young but maybe less attractive but still hot Robert Mitchum
No, R97 no one else thinks that.
R80 fix your link
Not only is it cartoonish, they waste half a show on something, and then it vanishes like it never existed.
We had the episode with the body in the yard, and then *poof* this week Fiona casually tells Frank that she got rid of the bones. Like that's no big deal? We don't get to see that?
What about the girl with a penis? All of a sudden her dead mother isn't dead, and she went back with her? Really, that's it?
We wasted 2 or 3 episodes with the whole "will Fiona blow her boss" nonsense, and then she walks in and quits in a 15 second scene that goes nowhere. What was that about?
It goes on and every week.
R100.. have you NOT paid attention? Fiona found the bones, we could actually see her finding it. It's not our fault you can't pay attention.
Yeah, the dramatic narrative has been less consistent this season. There is no denying that.
Also in regards to the Lip thing, you can try to explain away why he hasn't graduated, that is doable. It is pretty much impossible to explain how he is still a minor at this point, other than the show still wants him to be.
I have been told (correct me if I am wrong) that foster care kicks in until you are 18, unless you are registered in high school and then care can continue until graduation.
If you drop out foster care would not be applicable but the fact that he is registered, even if 19 would make him eligable to be a ward of the state.
You're right about the hectic, fuck-all sense of pace and logic, R100. But that's what it is. It's been this way from episode one. If you're not getting any enjoyment out of it, just go online Monday mornings and look for the screen caps.
If the DNA of something irks me, I simply give it a pass. See? This is me not watching GIRLS. It's easy!
Can someone help us out with Cameron Monahan's dick pic? That link did not work.
[quote]It goes on and every week.
R80 can you please repost the picture? Anyone?
Was this r80's picture? The actor vehemently denies being gay and that his penis was shown in the episode.
Cameron Monaghan @CameronMonaghan
This is the only time I will answer this here: No, I'm not gay. Yes, I play a gay character. No, the question should not be relevant.

@CameronMonaghan here's a better question: did we get a glimpse of little Cameron on Sunday's episode? #shameless

7 hrs Cameron Monaghan @CameronMonaghan
@mindBLOGgler No. Actors/Actresses are never fully exposed on movie sets.
It’s a figure of speech. It’s like saying - none of your business. “Your dick’s in my dad’s mouth, man.”
It's a cock sock. Only cocks exposed are for story purpose, Ian seeing the neighbors cock and Lip seeing how hung his girlfriend's new boyfriend was. Skin on skin, like the butt fucking scene requires cock sock.
methinks he doth protest too much.
Actually there's a better picture of him naked without a sock. It's shortly after when he is pulling up his boxers. It's a closer shot and you can see the head and part of the shaft.
It better have a condom on it. Fiona can't raise any more kids!
[quote]methinks he doth protest too much.
methinks your an asshole. He was repeatedly asked, he answered and stated he wouldn't address it again. Couldn't be any more respectful.
Anyone watched tonight's episode? What's with Aunt Ginger's will?
r112 pic or GTFO!
The actor who plays Lip is not very attractive yet the show keeps acting like he's some heart throb. I don't get it.
R117, the girls find him attractive ...that's all they comment about on twitter and tumblr...also gays and girls have diff taste
Last nights' episode was reasonably entertaining but we need more of Ian and Mickey. One scene after what happened last week is ridiculous.
Why no outcry about the association with homosexual activity and violence?
What association, R120?
So since the fat kid that knows the Foster Mother is having the kids work in the basement for food going to do anything about it or was that it? Perfect opportunity to have her jump up in court and report her. She's back home who cares?
What are you talking about? At the end Debbie said they have to bring the others some food.
No one is going to comment on Jody's self-sucking scene on last night's episode?
On Lip's and Ian's ages: the first season, Lip was sixteen when he was taking the SATs for students paying for his scam, while Ian was 15. The two of them even verify it in "May I Trim Your Hedges" when Lip rants about Kash taking advantage of his underage "baby brother".
Each season seems to revolve around an actual 'season', whether it's winter, spring, or summer, so by that time frame, it has only been two years since the start.
So, to reiterate:
this season-- Lip=17 Ian=16
After seeing Jimmy's expression the second Fiona accepted guardianship of the kids, I'm thinking that relationship is on the way out. And honestly, they've run out of things for Jimmy to do. He's never really fit in with the family dynamic.
I love how Lip and Ian, both of whom are WAY under 21, just walk into the Alibi (Frank's bar) and order up some beers from Kev whenever they feel like it.
Emily Rossum should get an Emmy nomination. She is fantastic in this series.
[quote]What are you talking about? At the end Debbie said they have to bring the others some food.
That's it, some food? That's the outcome? Once again bad behavior is never answered.
R125 when I was a teen I had a neighbor who tended bar at a bowling alley...I could walk in and order whatever I like. Not an unreal scenario.
There was also a cock without a sock in this episode...where are the caps of that?
Though he did have a ridiculous pubic haircut.
I love how they show cock on this show. And also Justin Chatwin's very lovely, chubby little ass.
Every time I see a dude-on-dude scene on this show, someone gets beat up for it.
Everyone gets beat up for everything on this show. I'm not sure there's a real correlation there.
And yeah, I loved the naked premature ejaculator. Cute, and pleasantly normal-sized.
Lets not reach for a reason to get offended R120/R130, Shameless has one of the meatiest samesex storylines in television right now. The violence is appropriate to the characters and the setting and fits the show.
Exactly, R132. Attitudes towards gays such as the one Mickey's dad has are the norm amongst those kinds of working classes. I actually think it's a rather tragic storyline and like the way it's being told. Those are the attitudes that need to change because those are the ones who don't get what homosexuality is. Or what love is, either.
the English version did much better with Mickey and Ian. In the OG version Mickey was desperate for love, not afraid to kiss at all.
Yeah, but R134, they eventually turned Ian straight. Pissed me off.
Who was the naked man with Estefania?
I wish the gay sex scenes on this show weren't so blink and you'll miss it.
really? [R118] cuz i'm a straight woman and i don't find him attractive at all and i've never understood why all the bitches are after his dick, it just doesn't make any sense.
I liked the losing the house episode.
I do think the rich guy wants to move on, but if the story is true and he has no money and his family has no more money then what can he move on to?
CAn't he move in w/his brazillian "wife"???
Will this version be on long enough to watch Carl grow up to be the star of the show and HOTT like the British version? With Mickey trying to get with Carl?
Yeah, Carl ended up being the hottest thing on the UK show when he grew up. Wasn't he one of the Tittensor twins?
Nothing against the kid in the US version, but I don't see him growing up quite the same way.
What did everyone think of Frank as Gay Joe, the new face of the gay movement? I thought it was one of the funniest storylines with this character in a long, long time. Really curious to see how it pans out.
Ian continues to break my heart with the way he insists on loving Mickey, his thug that will never come out. Watching Mickey kick the shit out of his secret boyfriend when he clearly has feelings for him was really brutal. Noel Fisher is really a wonderful actor--you could read that character's whole story in his face.
And Mandy with the hit n run on Karen? But somehow, I am still Team Mandy! Sick I know
Also, seems like next season, the characters may be everywhere but Chicago: the rich guy in Medical school! and Lip at MIT!
I think Fiona is going to get involved with her new boss, or at least be tempted to, and that, combined with Jimmy's new direction in life, is going to cause them to drift apart.
Debbie caring for Sheila was really something. That poor kid deserves sainthood. I think she's my new favorite.
Ian and Mickey is truly, tragically heartbreaking.
The new boss is cute. Bring on the nude scenes.
And yeah, Mandy was awful for doing that, but remember what all Karen did? In terms of pure evil, it's sort of six of one, half dozen of the other. Lip doesn't have the best taste in women.
[R148] i was shocked as shit when it was revealed that it was mandy who did the hit and run, but i was so glad she did cuz karen is an awful bitch who needs to go. team mandy!
It seems Fiona is with another guy (the new boss maybe?) in the preview of next episode.
Was that Bill Brochtrup that works behind Fiona? What happened to him?
[quote]Was that Bill Brochtrup that works behind Fiona? What happened to him?
Yes! He's been doing mostly theater work since NYPD Blue.
I second nude scenes with new boss.
Hope Fiona hooks up with the new boss. Steve/Jimmy is boring as hell recently.
Steve is always boring when dressed.
He looks very different from time to time.
Did y'all notice that Jesus was played by none other than Revenge's Nolan's ex-boyfriend? He didn't have that massive gayvoice there
I'm still shocked that the extended full frontal male nude scene from a few weeks ago got so little mention here (and no screen caps??)
When the sex addict guy went full frontal, we had screen caps galore!
(And still no info on the naked guy that was shot several weeks ago? Because damn! He was super-hot... I frame-by-framed the scene where he walks into the room before getting shot, and it's kind of clear he was wearing a cock-sock... but I still want to know more about that actor. Because DAMN!)
The actor who plays 'Lip' isn't attractive. But he sure is sexy.
New episode tonight?
Not a great episode. They could have done so much more with Ian and Mickey. They made it seem like the beatdown never really happened.
So, who is leaving the show? Lip, Ian, Jimmy?
I imagine Jimmy is.
R163 his name was posted in this thread somewhere.
I don't think Micky got married in the UK version right?
[quote]And still no info on the naked guy that was shot several weeks ago? Because damn! He was super-hot...
His name is Thierre Di Castro. He was on an episode of Matthew Perry's show Go On a few months back playing a guy named Marco as well. IIRC he was shirtless in his scene. That's what made me take notice.
I am always late to the party...will watch it tonight.
This is a great pic, but honestly, he looked even hotter in the show:
So sad about Jimmy. I really hope he is not written off of the show. Poor Fiona. She will be sooo confused more than ever.
Was I the only one who thought Ian was going to kiss Lip during his drunk scene at the wedding?
Ian's "drunken" scenes were painful to watch. Cameron Monaghan cannot act. Nice looking kid, though.
And I don't get why his supposed best friend and beard, Mandy, couldn't figure out that Ian was in love with her brother. Then again, maybe that's a good thing.
Frank was cracking me up last night. Sometimes, even as loathsome as Frank's character often is, William H. Macy has such joy playing him that I can't help getting a kick out of him. His scenes with Carl were actually rather sweet.
William H. Macy is by far the best thing on this show. Second is Joan Cusack. I love Sheryl Lee Ralph's character too.
LOL, at Sheryl Lee Ralph. I haven't seen her around in ages.
I'm assuming you mean Shanola Hampton, the woman who plays 'V' (Veronica)? I think she and Steve Howey have great chemistry together. You really buy that relationship.
Now that Karen and Jody are going off to Sedona, they had better give Sheila something else to do! I would sorely miss her if they phased her out along with her family. Maybe the budding friendship with Debbie will become a thing, like a surrogate auntie, and she could watch Liam, too.
Yes, Cameron Monaghan's acting is a bit patchy on the show. Sometimes, he's good like in the beatdown scene and other times trying to appear drunk just doesn't come off too realistic. Perhaps it's just due to his age and lack of life experiences.
Noel Fisher who plays Mickey is a fine actor but at times, like last night, it seems like a 20-something year old guy talking, which he is in real life.
I chalk it up to bad direction also.
Oh dear R178, I meant Vanessa Bell Calloway, the actress playing Veronica's mom with the surrogate story line.
R181 Vanessa is wonderful, funny and loving and just awesome in the role.
Ah, of course! I forgot about V's mom. Thanks for clearing that up, R181.
I liked the moment when Fiona's boss showed her his tattoo of his ex-wife's name. Those jeans needed to get pushed down just a fraction lower.
So Fiona needs to kick the silver-spoon-mob-entangled-car-thief to the curb, and go after her boss. Because DAMN.
[quote]William H. Macy is by far the best thing on this show.
I always cringe during his scenes. I'd love the show even more if he weren't in it at all. (His charcter)
R185, I agree. Most (not all) of the time his waste of storylines take up too much time from the other characters.
So who is going to die in the next episode? Jimmy ? Frank? A suprise?
Mandy is really the most caring character in the show. Even though she tried to "kill" Karen.
Next, Jodi is a saint- he is going to care for Karen in an addled state and that baby?
Idiots. Macy's character Frank Gallagher is the engine that drives "Shameless." He's the raison d'etre for the family's circumstances.
Did anyone notice that when Ian walks in to talk with Mickey that it appears as if there might have been a scene with them together before that? I thought I might have missed something.
I did not notice anything...
R189 what are you talking about?
Ian walks in and says, "you call me a punk because I want a boyfriend..."
Did I miss a scene? When did this happen?
It happened in the field when he got beat up, two episodes ago.
So... was that the season finale?
If not, how many more episodes are there?
R195- season finale is next week.. I guess that means that BNURSE JACKIE will be back along with THE BORGIAS.
Did anyone watch last nights episode? The Frank-Lip father-son moments are quite...touching.
Are they really going to let all those characters go at the end of this season? I think they will bring at least some of them back for next season or they will have to introduce some new ones?
How does this show do in the ratings?
Very good season finale. Also, felt a bit like a series ending tying up loose ends for most of the characters.
Love that Ian turned the tables on Mickey.
Knew Frank was going to walk from the hospital and his family, that's what addicts do.
Emmy Rossum and William H Macy should get emmy noms this year.
[quote]Very good season finale. Also, felt a bit like a series ending tying up loose ends for most of the characters.
I think they were unsure on whether or not they'd get another season so they did an ep like this season finale just in case.
I loved that Sheila found some happiness. Hate that Jody couldn't stay with her.
I was sure that Micky would run after Ian but that wouldn't be Shameless. They don't go for the cutesy happy ending. And it would be unrealistic. Micky's a mess. Ian's good to be free of him.
[quote]Are they really going to let all those characters go at the end of this season? I think they will bring at least some of them back for next season or they will have to introduce some new ones?
I think they will all come back with the exception of Jimmy. Maybe Lip returns once he realizes Ian is gone. Or maybe he'll appear on a recurring basis rather a series regular.
I think this is the last of Jody and Karen.
Why would they not get another Season, the show is great?
Series is renewed. And call me thick- but I Guess we can assume that they "offed" Jimmy?
And if so, sad that Fiona will never know that in a way, he died helping her to take care of her family....So he really did give the most in the relationship...
R201 the actor who plays Ian said on his twitter that it's not yet determined whether Ian will be back in season 4.
Btw how good is this fake ID? Besides if Lip really is going to college, the identity issue could easily be discovered. But I guess the writer will find a way to figure this out.
Noel Fisher (who plays Mickey) implies on his twitter than he'll be back next year.
if mickey really comes back next year then sadly i can definitely see a suicide storyline for him
Really hope that Ian and Lip aren't leaving. Presumably the next series will be set in the summer so Lip won't even have left for MIT yet? The Gallaghers all leaving was what went to badly wrong for the UK version.
I didn't realize they left in the UK who was the show about after?
Will Tyler Jacob Moore come back please?
r204- Worried that the fake ID issue will prevent Lip from going to MIT- if so, that will suck!
You could tell the Brazilian bodyguard/spy that baby sat Jimmy felt remorse about Fiona and it was super nice that he even gave her the $2K.
R208 I stopped watching really, but Steve and Fiona left in series 2 and the rest of the Gallaghers plus Kev and Veronica began to drop off from then on.
I stopped watching it but some of them returned at different points throughout the series. No idea who's in it now, but at one point Frank was the only Gallagher left. They began to focus on the Maguire's (the Malkovich's) more and Kash's family and it became a lot more soapy.
I couldn't resist his giant cock-penis!
The Voice of the Night
I wasn't sure about this season at the start, but it ended up being really good. Loved the finale. I wonder if Jimmy will be a mystery, or will they say what happened to him? Will he come back? I love Justin Chatwin. I unexpectedly saw him in person at a gas station once, and he's such a cutie.
I like Justin Chatwin but I think the Steve/Jimmy character has run its course for a while. I think it would be nice to have him miss most of the season, maybe return at the end.
A lot of characters left in the UK show, but we also have to remember that character/actor turnover is more common in UK series. It is unlikely they will do the same thing in the American version where people freak out when the cast changes.
To be honest I wouldn't miss Ian that much if we still had Mickey, Noel Fisher is the one who makes his storyline interesting as he is a much better actor than Cameron Monaghan.
Jimmy was a lollipop head. He often wore boots so I assume he was short. His head was huge for his body.
He is short in person, R215. I'd say 5'8" at most, if that. I'm 5'10", and he was for sure a couple inches shorter than me.
I figured r216, his build reminded me of Tom Cruise
The American version does really well by season endings, and a number of the actors are terrific which kept me watching past the curiosity stage of comparing it to the UK original which I liked (for two seasons, anyway.)
It was pretty clear to me that Jimmy is dead, but what money was the bodyguard delivering? Whatever was in Jimmy's wallet when he died? Or did the bodyguard or drug lord come out of pocket?
[quote]Btw how good is this fake ID? Besides if Lip really is going to college, the identity issue could easily be discovered. But I guess the writer will find a way to figure this out.
Out of the 1001 totally unrealistic things that happened this season that's the plot hole that has you worried?
That's like watching every Bugs Bunny cartoon and deciding they're unrealistic because a rabbit can't really hold a carrot with his paw.
I think it is the bodyguard. He said to Jimmy before that Fiona is a good girl and she deserves better.
We all know what's going to happen, it's
Lip will go to a college closer to home, Ian will get kicked out of the army after they find out his real age, and Mickey will now be the one running after him to get him back.
Let's start betting money on this.
I don't see how there would be a question about renewal. Isn't it one of Showtime's highest rated shows?
Did I miss something in regard to the Harry Hamlin character? In the last appearance, didn't he say he was broke and lost his job?
I thought Mickey's scene in his bedroom was pretty amazing, actually. The guy who plays Mickey has some acting chops after all...
Harry Hamlin lost his marriage, I think he was stil employed. He ate from a hot dog cart, not 5 star.
I think Lip will go to MIT but pop back in periodically or have MIT scenes.
Army scenes could work as well. 2.5 men uses skype for those.
I think Hamlin said his money was all tied up because of the divorce after he was thrown out. Still has his job and probably has more cash by now.
[quote]Lip will go to a college closer to home,
Don't forget the whole University of Chicago subplot with the professor chasing him and showing him the robotics lab after Lip was caught cheating on the ACT tests. I would assume that's what will happen if he stays on the show.
So what would the show be without Frank, Steve, Ian, Lip, Jody, Laura, ...
It'd be a lot less interesting to me, actually.
Ian and Mickey was actually an interesting plot-line.
I don't give a shit about the younger kids (the boy OR the girl, let alone liam), and Sheila is fine in small doses, but too much is not a good thing.
I don't really want this to be the "Fiona" show.
I'm trying to imagine what a 'next season' would even be about, to be honest.
Are they going to spend half the season contriving to get everyone back? Ugh, if so.
Shouldn't Liam be 5 by now. They definitely need to let some of the characters grow and just come back for holidays. I hope it doesn't become like Good Times where no one ever got out of the ghetto.
I just finished marathoning this show & am going to be experiencing serious withdrawals until January. If I had one complaint, it's not enough Ian/Mickey scenes. I think Mickey has actually grown to be my favorite character, although they're all pretty interesting.
Didn't really care for Jimmy, though. He came off like a creeper at the beginning. I got used to him, but Fiona can do so much better. Either with the new boss or with that cute policeman who was barely in Season 3.
Is there any other show on tv right now that is as gratuitous with the male nudity?
who is that at r232
I am so bummed out that Jimmie isn't returning. I will miss that chubby little behind.
I'll be sure to start a new thread when the new season starts...
But it did seem Jimmy's character ran its course. I'm hoping his character will at least be mentioned in the new season.
It is kind of weird for such a "major" character to be killed off like that without any real drama around it. He just sorta faded away.
Did the actor get another gig or something?
[quote]It is kind of weird for such a "major" character to be killed off like that without any real drama around it. He just sorta faded away.
I don't know, there was a big plotline about him getting involved in the wrong people and the repercussions. I mean yeah, he was a major character the show is writing out but I think the writers felt they could do more with Fiona without him there.
Yeah, big plotline, but then he just ... stepped on a boat and was never seen or heard from again. We didn't see anything. Nothing was conclusive.
So technically he COULD come back.
Which makes me wonder if the actor got another gig and left the show, vs. the writers really wanting the character to be offed.
we need a new thread for season 4!
Where is the Season 4 thread?
I was able to find the season 4 thread but it wouldn't open. Not sure what's going on. I'm three episodes behind and I like to read the comments after watching each episode. I'm really curious what everyone's thoughts are but if it won't open...
The other thread was shut down/deleted for some reason.
New thread is linked.
I just completed my binge watching all episodes, from the pilot to the end of season 4. Fuck, what a great show. I am completely hooked.
I love how every single character has an identity and story line - no one is just window dressing. And Frank's defiant "You couldn't kill me" scene at the end, and encouraging his son to drink (the same age Frank was when he started) was tragic, realistic, and sickly humorous.
This is one fucking awesome show.
