• I will once the Golden Globes are over. I have a huge crush on Lip.

• I am. Although I wish the show was more gritty and approached poverty in a more realistic way, it's really good fun to watch. Harry Hamlin looks great.

• Can someone explain what the deal was with the shooting? I can't remember everything from last season.

• I really feel like i missed soemthing. There were so many scenes in the "what happened previously" bit at the beginning that I had never seen before. And I swear I watched through the finale last season! So, where the hell did Harry Hamlin come from? I never saw the baby being delivered! Did I just miss the finale somehow, or did I miss more episodes than that? On another note, the sexy naked guy that was killed ... damn he was hot. Anyone know who he is or have any other pictures of him? (that was a pretty horrifying scene for a comedy)

• R6, Harry Hamlin was in the second or third last episode of the season. Ian hooked up with him (before he knew who he was), and it turns out he's Jimmy/Steve's dad. I thought the baby was delivered in the finale, but it might have been in the episode before the finale, I'm not sure.

• What's going on with Jimmy/Steve's involvement with the guy who was shot? The father of the daughter he was in a fake marriage with has never been seen before, and what the hell was the deal with him? Can someone explain? The problem with shows like these is that the hiatus is so long you forget some of the plot details.

• Jimmy/Steve was involved with some drug lord down in Brazil and he got in trouble and owed them some money. That's why the drug lord forced Jimmy/Steve to marry his daughter. I guess he came back to check up on them and wasn't especially happy when he realized that he didn't take the marriage seriously. Jimmy/Steve is still in debt with them. You really should watch the couple last episodes last season. Everything is explained. It seems like you missed a lot.

• R6 here again... I'm not sure how I missed an episode, but come to think of it, my DVR did die sometime last spring. It might have taken an episode with it and I forgot all about it. I'm going to have to find the episodes online somewhere. Does anyone stream them? Showtime? Netflix? I really feel like there's a big gap here and I really can't remember exactly how that happened. Dammit. Back to my question: Any info on the hot naked guy who was shot in the head?

• Interesting to see Harry Hamlin trying take care of Ian and he thinks that is too intimate because he has it bad for mickey. Lip is still a minor? Was surpried by that. not sure he would really get a slap on the wrist for stealing such expensive equipment A lot of jimmy in this one, the whole thing with the drug lords daughter is probably going be some big source of drama for him and Fiona which will get old. Solid but not amazing opener but happy to have this show ack and the preview for the season looked good. Wish this show got more press, it is damn good and has some prominent gay storylines. (also I might be gay but Vs breast...were some impressive boobies)

• Love this show. Not crazy about Jimmy's mob boss story line it just feels too over-the-top. I'm hoping it wont drag on too much. Looks like a good season for Ian's story line with two love interests.

Like a lot of shows, this one runs the risk of carrying too much baggage along from characters and plot lines from previous seasons. A level of complexity is one thing, but at some point, some house cleaning needs to take place when it comes to endless loose ends. And, like a lot of shows, the strength of this one is rooted in the simpler not the more fantastic elements.

• R23 the biggest problem with this 'plot' is that Jimmy comes from a rich family. He can get money at any time, finish medical school if he wants.

• I weep for William H Macy's career for being part of this trashy drek. William is the best on this show. I can't think of anyone else who could play Frank.

• New ep last night. Nice to see the return of Mickey, I do think he and Ian have good chemistry together. Lips scam seemed a little ridiculous. No one questioned the random unadvertised concert happening? Liked him confronting Fiona as she did act ridiculously careless.

• I saw a few recent episodes (late to the party) yesterday and am hooked. I do think they make their home life seem way too out of control 24/7. I get dizzy with all the choreographed chaos. It's all just a bit OTT. Couple questions: Why doesn't someone come and take those kids away with all the shit that goes on in that house? What's up with Joan Cusack and her constantly screaming asian baby with the helmet? Where is the mother? Dead?

• The baby belongs to Joan's daughter, the daughter wanted to abandon the baby so mom took him. Someone has to alert someone to come take the kids away, and no one in a neighborhood like that would alert anyone. The mother of the kids is a part time lesbian manic depressive with suicidal tendencies, she comes and pops in sometimes...she also had a drug problem.

• Please, the show is one steaming pile of shit but oh so watchable. All the guys wear cock socks unless it's necessary to the plot. Steve Howey showed cock in the pilot that closeted Ian saw. Zach McGowan showed to get Lip jealous that Karen's new boyfriend was hung. Sorry, but Williams H. Macy is terrible and is not talented enough to make this character loveable. There is no reason after everything Frank has done to the family that they haven't kicked him to death and fed him to junkyard dogs years ago. Amazing how they manage to get thousands of dollars each time at the last minute yet live in squalor. The only reason to watch is the nudity, well except William H Macy, even Felicity doesn't want to see that anymore.

• R28 I can easily buy the parking scam, as my brothers and I pulled it a couple of times at street festivals in Chicago. The concert scam I'm not so sure about, but given the target 'audience' I would think they might have been dumb enough to fall for it.

• I find Lip SEXY/hot, R40. Hate, hate, hate William H. Macy in this. I almost wish they'd kill Frank off. It's a little tired watching him come home, steal money, piss on something or get pissed on, then take off for months at a time again.

• Frank isn't supposed to be likeable--ever. I think they did a good job last year showing how Frank was the way he was when they had his mother show up. In the UK version--Frank is always despicable.

Even the most hopeless drunks have their moments when they can be likable or at least they are cunning enough to fake it to get something they want out of people--gaining trust only to let people down over an over. But no one has any reason to like or trust Frank at all in this show, so why don't they just change the locks?

• I'm a little late to this show with a couple questions - How is the interracial couple related to the family? Who are the parents of the baby who lives in the house?

• The interracial couple are just friends of the family who live near by, R49. Veronica is close with Fiona (Emmy Rossum), and Kevin is close with Lip. Kevin also runs the bar that Frank (William H. Macy) frequents. And the parents of the baby are William H. Macy (he apparently had a black relative) and Chloe Webb, who plays their bipolar absentee mother.

• Why don't we ever see anyone taking care of the baby in any scenes? It's always a lot of running around, people coming in and out, arguing, eating, fucking, and a lot of times the baby is MIA or sitting in a high chair ignored. Do the older kids get any foster care money for taking care of the little ones. If not, someone needs to get on that...like right away.

• Jealous Mickey is so sexy. I hope they finally explore he and Ian's relationship beyond the sex.

• Do we really want to see a bunch of scenes of taking care of a baby R52? Doesn't really make for exciting television. The real issue is that at least a year and a half has passed since the show started and the baby is still...a baby. It should be older but I guess they can't figure out how to work a toddler into the show. Its pretty ridiculous though. And I think that is what they are doing R53. Basically since he got it has been Ian trying to work out if Mickey actually cares for him and getting him to admit that. The guy that plays Mickey does such a great job IMO. Overall I liked it but Franks antics with Carl are yawn and I don't like the chick that plays Mindy. They need to quit giving her more focus because the actress ain't that great, and looks like it continues next week.

• I would like to see more awkward scenes with Ian/Jimmy/Jimmy father and family.

• Carl and Debbie are the ethos of the show now, which is a total retcon. I can live with this as there is a much more cohesive aspect to the family. Still, the writers do not seem to grasp that she show's "get" is poverty and not quirky exploits (bar Sheila). Love the Ian/Micky/Harry Hamlin storyline and overall this season is palatable - if not as funny as the last two. I remember last season picking up as it went on, hopefully this is the case here.

• Too many storylines. The laser robot wars stuff was so stupid--we get it, the guy's a genius. They need to dump the mafia storyline and the inter-racial couple. The scenes that "shock" (eg, slavery porn) are so stupid and serve no purpose other than to shock. This is a sign of bad writing.

• This Mandy is a replacement, right? Didn't Mandy from season one go on to play the lead in SUBURGATORY? Or did I dream that? Agreed about the Mickey/Ian stuff from this episode. So much better than the UK version in this regard.

• The mafia storyline bores me just like when they did it on weeds. I stopped watching weeds after that.

• You are right R58. The original (and much better) Mandy left after the first season. I agree with you in some respects R57 but they should absolutely not dump "the interracial couple" (Also it seems silly me that people refer to them as that, idk, the fact that people dating happen to be of different races barely registers with me). Kev and V are great well acted characters that should always be part of the show IMO.

• Kev and V are great characters, and Fiona desperately needs friends like them, with all the insanity she's living with. Last night's episode was one of the best so far, I was laughing out loud at the scenes with Lip and the sex offender teacher.

• Ian's storyline has been sorely neglected in the first 2 seasons and they need to give him more screen time this year. Mickey is by far the most entertaining character on the show. Fiona and Frank have had so much focus already that their storylines are getting repetitive and boring. The kids are a lot more interesting.

• ITA with R57 except for Kev and V-- I like them. Mafia storyline = boring.

• I like this show, but, this season, they seem to be using envelope pushing to wink at the audience instead of create meaningful story. And there's too much of a focus on capers, rather than realism. I also think that Frank is best in small doses. The focus should be on the kids. As much as I love justin chatwin (and his frequent nudity) he always feels out of place. They need to do a better job of integrating his story lines with the rest of the family.

• That girl who plays Debbie breaks my heart.

• Justin Chatwin is such a cutie. This season seems a little off-track or something. Not really liking the vibe.

• I still love this show. It just makes me smile. My question is, is Frank the same on the British production? He seems like a character that you love to hate, but ultimately loves his family without showing it. But with Macy playing him, I just hate Frank. Completely hate him. Are we supposed to? And as much as I love Emmy Rossum in this, some of her line readings bother me. You can tell she tries too hard with a blue collar accent sometimes and it sounds weird.

• The British Frank is just as detestable as the American one. And he's had many more seasons of horrible things to do. (Final season begins next Tuesday, BTW). AT this point, I don't think a single child still speaks to him with the possibility of Carl, who thinked moved away with his girlfriend last year. But the show has also shifted focus to the MacGuires, called the Miloslevics in the U.S.

• Frank is probably MORE hateful in the British show. The actor playing him (who I think created the show, right?) comes off like a true Neanderthal. I actually think casting Macy was a huge mistake. He's playacting at something he just can't do convincingly. Macy's no brute. As a result, you keep expecting there to be something more to Frank than there is. The British Frank is infinitely more entertaining in his lack of layers.

• Did anyone see yesterday's Shameless yet? Ian is fucking his boyfriend when the boyfriend's father walks in. But if you pause the DVR, you get to see Ian's penis and he's cut.

• Last night's ep. was great. The smug, pretentious, rich gay couple had me laughing because I've met that couple 1000 fucking times in my life.

• I think yesterday was one of the most over the top eps they have done, crazy stuff. I didnt think the V and her mom thing would go all the way to a threesome. Ian and Mickey continue to give some of the best scenes, mainly because Noel Fisher is so damn good. I thought there was a flash of Ians cock there.

• Mike Doyle was the only reason to watch that dreckish Gifted Man. Well, except for Patrick Wilson.

• I keep trying to like it, but it's so cartoonish. This week they wasted so many storylines--the gay couple, the guys in the group home, Fiona swinging the case worker to her side--there were half a dozen things that would made an interesting hour of television, but they blow right past them, and on to next week where they'll touch on half a dozen completely new things. Was there even a second where you worried that the family was separated and the kids were torn apart? Hell, you don't make an investment because you know that it all works out in the end. It's nothing but a bunch of 3 minute sketches knitted together. Yes, I realize it's a comedy, but you still need to give it some structure.

• Can't believe people are into Lip. He's so fucking ugly! Like a crack baby grown up. The beak, jew hair, wonky eyes, wack forehead... Yuck. The last season of Shameless UK starts back on tv tonight. The original Lip is back too.

• Not only is it cartoonish, they waste half a show on something, and then it vanishes like it never existed. We had the episode with the body in the yard, and then *poof* this week Fiona casually tells Frank that she got rid of the bones. Like that's no big deal? We don't get to see that? What about the girl with a penis? All of a sudden her dead mother isn't dead, and she went back with her? Really, that's it? We wasted 2 or 3 episodes with the whole "will Fiona blow her boss" nonsense, and then she walks in and quits in a 15 second scene that goes nowhere. What was that about? It goes on and every week.

• Yeah, the dramatic narrative has been less consistent this season. There is no denying that. Also in regards to the Lip thing, you can try to explain away why he hasn't graduated, that is doable. It is pretty much impossible to explain how he is still a minor at this point, other than the show still wants him to be.

• I have been told (correct me if I am wrong) that foster care kicks in until you are 18, unless you are registered in high school and then care can continue until graduation. If you drop out foster care would not be applicable but the fact that he is registered, even if 19 would make him eligable to be a ward of the state.

• You're right about the hectic, fuck-all sense of pace and logic, R100. But that's what it is. It's been this way from episode one. If you're not getting any enjoyment out of it, just go online Monday mornings and look for the screen caps. If the DNA of something irks me, I simply give it a pass. See? Each season seems to revolve around an actual 'season', whether it's winter, spring, or summer, so by that time frame, it has only been two years since the start. So, to reiterate: this season-- Lip=17 Ian=16 After seeing Jimmy's expression the second Fiona accepted guardianship of the kids, I'm thinking that relationship is on the way out. And honestly, they've run out of things for Jimmy to do. He's never really fit in with the family dynamic.

• I love how Lip and Ian, both of whom are WAY under 21, just walk into the Alibi (Frank's bar) and order up some beers from Kev whenever they feel like it. Emily Rossum should get an Emmy nomination. She is fantastic in this series.

• What did everyone think of Frank as Gay Joe, the new face of the gay movement? I thought it was one of the funniest storylines with this character in a long, long time. Really curious to see how it pans out. Ian continues to break my heart with the way he insists on loving Mickey, his thug that will never come out. Watching Mickey kick the shit out of his secret boyfriend when he clearly has feelings for him was really brutal. Noel Fisher is really a wonderful actor--you could read that character's whole story in his face.

• I think Fiona is going to get involved with her new boss, or at least be tempted to, and that, combined with Jimmy's new direction in life, is going to cause them to drift apart. Debbie caring for Sheila was really something. That poor kid deserves sainthood. I think she's my new favorite. Ian and Mickey is truly, tragically heartbreaking.

• Ian's "drunken" scenes were painful to watch. Cameron Monaghan cannot act. Nice looking kid, though. And I don't get why his supposed best friend and beard, Mandy, couldn't figure out that Ian was in love with her brother. Then again, maybe that's a good thing. Frank was cracking me up last night. Sometimes, even as loathsome as Frank's character often is, William H. Macy has such joy playing him that I can't help getting a kick out of him. His scenes with Carl were actually rather sweet.

• William H. Macy is by far the best thing on this show. Second is Joan Cusack. I love Sheryl Lee Ralph's character too.

• LOL, at Sheryl Lee Ralph. I haven't seen her around in ages. I'm assuming you mean Shanola Hampton, the woman who plays 'V' (Veronica)? I think she and Steve Howey have great chemistry together. You really buy that relationship.

• Now that Karen and Jody are going off to Sedona, they had better give Sheila something else to do! I would sorely miss her if they phased her out along with her family. Maybe the budding friendship with Debbie will become a thing, like a surrogate auntie, and she could watch Liam, too.

• Yes, Cameron Monaghan's acting is a bit patchy on the show. Sometimes, he's good like in the beatdown scene and other times trying to appear drunk just doesn't come off too realistic. Perhaps it's just due to his age and lack of life experiences. Noel Fisher who plays Mickey is a fine actor but at times, like last night, it seems like a 20-something year old guy talking, which he is in real life. I chalk it up to bad direction also.

• Oh dear R178, I meant Vanessa Bell Calloway, the actress playing Veronica's mom with the surrogate story line.

• R208 I stopped watching really, but Steve and Fiona left in series 2 and the rest of the Gallaghers plus Kev and Veronica began to drop off from then on. I stopped watching it but some of them returned at different points throughout the series. No idea who's in it now, but at one point Frank was the only Gallagher left. They began to focus on the Maguire's (the Malkovich's) more and Kash's family and it became a lot more soapy.

• I wasn't sure about this season at the start, but it ended up being really good. Loved the finale. I wonder if Jimmy will be a mystery, or will they say what happened to him? Will he come back? I love Justin Chatwin. I unexpectedly saw him in person at a gas station once, and he's such a cutie.

• I like Justin Chatwin but I think the Steve/Jimmy character has run its course for a while. I think it would be nice to have him miss most of the season, maybe return at the end. A lot of characters left in the UK show, but we also have to remember that character/actor turnover is more common in UK series. It is unlikely they will do the same thing in the American version where people freak out when the cast changes. To be honest I wouldn't miss Ian that much if we still had Mickey, Noel Fisher is the one who makes his storyline interesting as he is a much better actor than Cameron Monaghan.

• Jimmy was a lollipop head. He often wore boots so I assume he was short. His head was huge for his body.

• The American version does really well by season endings, and a number of the actors are terrific which kept me watching past the curiosity stage of comparing it to the UK original which I liked (for two seasons, anyway.)

• We all know what's going to happen, it's American TV. Lip will go to a college closer to home, Ian will get kicked out of the army after they find out his real age, and Mickey will now be the one running after him to get him back. Let's start betting money on this.

• Harry Hamlin lost his marriage, I think he was stil employed. He ate from a hot dog cart, not 5 star. I think Lip will go to MIT but pop back in periodically or have MIT scenes. Army scenes could work as well. 2.5 men uses skype for those.

• I think Hamlin said his money was all tied up because of the divorce after he was thrown out. Still has his job and probably has more cash by now.
