I know he is generally reviled but I've seen two movies dramas recently that he's been actually pretty good in. Gardens of the Night and April Showers in which he was a tragic and rather touching character.
Some of the funniest episodes of Roseanne are the ones he has a writing credit on.
He was actually pretty good in "True Lies".
He's a nice dude and very gay friendly. His brother is gay.
When he and Roseanne called it quits, he gave an interview where he said he was soooooo glad to be out of the marriage, but he hopes he can still stay close to her kids whom he loves. I think he was sincere.
When he appeared on her roast it was oddly nice. And honest.
At the end of April Showers they list all of the school shootings starting with the UT book tower shooter in the 60's. It was shocking to see so many of them and many must not get much press. Some only had one or two victims. I don't think the U of Alabama shooter, Dr. Amy "Boom, Boom" Bishop, was mentioned though.
Ive always thought he was funny. And as someone already said, his Roseanne episodes are a real piss. I never understood the hate that he would get. Im glad to see here Im not the only one who feels the same way.
I thought he was great in the movie Happy Endings with Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Jason Ritter. I was shocked at what a great actor he was and could be based off of my dislike of him in the role from Roseanne.
He is a genius. You can see how crappy Roseanne was the first couple of seasons till she hooked up with Arnold. Then the show was brilliant. After she dumped him, the show tanked again.
He was adorable as a shy elder gay in the 2012 movie Hit and Run
Small penis, by his own account. I've often thought of it.
Still thinking of it. Often. It has now produced some components of a baby, and has become less interesting.
R9 = Tom Arnold
Even Roseanne admitted Tom was good in True Lies.
There's just something about him that I've always liked. Maybe that he doesn't put him out there as many celebrities do, can be self-deprecating, seems very down to earth.
I'm pleasantly surprised that there's so much goodwill toward Tom here. I've always liked him.
His acting was a tour de force in "Soul Plane."
His scene in the airplane's bathroom with D. L. Hughley was mesmerizing.
r1 is right. The show was its funniest, most ironic and strangely most endearing when Tom was helping to write the program.
I was recently watching a campy cameo appearence that Roseanne and Tom made on the daytime soap opera General Hospital in a storyline with Luke and Laura in the mid 90s and was surprised by how wooden, bored and unresponsive Roseanne was, whereas Tom was really rather good. I think he's actually a natural talent in front of and behind the scenes.
He's very good as a corrupt porn mogul in Sons of Anarchy.
He's one of those actors you don't much think about, but when you do see them you realize how much you enjoy watching them.
Cripes he was.the coke, not the talent behind Roseanne. Coke. It makes you better. Until it doesn't.
