• I haven't seen her on TV since she was on GSN's I've Got a Secret in 2006.

• Saw her live years ago one summer in Provincetown -- I've rarely laughed so hard in my life. Don't know why she isn't better known -- even in the lgbt community, Kate Clinton has better name recognition and she's no where near as Westenhoefer.

• I've been a fan for years. Have never seen her live but I have all her CDs and watched all her specials. She's damn funny and should be better known.

• Saw her live at a sparsely attended show in a smallish city. She killed, and at least a quarter of her material pertained to the smallish city and environs, obviously written just for that show. Also, none of it was rehash from a previous tv special (as far as I could tell). Agree that she is so much better than her current career would indicate. Not sure why her career hasn't lived up to her talent.

• She used to do a joke (maybe she still does) about Hollywood not being interested in her: "We already have a blonde, lesbian comedian." It's pretty spot-on. They could barely figure out what to do with Ellen so I'm not shocked Suzanne hasn't broken out.

• I love Suzanne Westenhoefer, and I'm a guy. I also wish she'd be more well-known than she is - she's been around for many years. Her material is consistently hilarious and like the above poster said, she doesn't recycle her jokes endlessly like a lot of other stand-ups do. I once saw her do a bit on the differences between lesbian cruises and gay male cruises and it was so spot-on and hilarious.

• r12 you don't have to go on a lesbian cruise to know what goes on. It was one of the funniest bits of stand-up I've ever heard.
