Decption: The case of the one second chair

Okay, the F.B.I. guy is sitting in a red and white striped chair in the heroine's apartment. Suddenly they do a reverse shot, and it's a red and yellow diamond striped chair. In the next shot, back to the striped chair. WTF was that about?

• Also, the lead is working for S.F.P.D. when her character is established, but then somehow she's working for the N.Y.P.D. with no explanation.

• The way I understood it, she wors for SFPD but she found out her best friend died and the NYPD requested her assistance so she is on loan to them. I have no explanation for the chair. I wanted to like it, but so many stupid things happened. Especially when those thugs hit that guy's car and he just sat there with his keys already in the ignition waiting for them to hit him again. As long as it took for them to back up and hit him again he could have pulled out and sped away.
