Have you ever made a movie or commissioned someone to make a movie?

I'm thinking about making a movie in the future. I'm not a director and have no background in directing. I know the Inception, at least concept was made by a doctor. Did anyone make a film here. Can someone talk about what it's like and how you went about it.
