Would Heath Ledger made a more entertaining batman than Christian Bale?

Nolan originally went to Heath Ledger asking him to be batman. And Ledger refused. Then Bale got the role. Personally, I think Heath Ledger would made a terrific Batman. He's got the acting chops for it. They could have even made a fourth movie had Ledger played the main role.
