Let's Recast "A Star is Born" with Today's Actors

To make it interesting, cast the movie with stars who have some semblance in their personal lives to the drama in the film.

• There aren't any singer/actresses interesting enough to build the film around. If Jennifer Hudson hadn't already played Effie then she'd be a great choice, but to do ASIB now would be treading the same ground. If set in the world of acting....Michael Fassbender and Juno Temple?

• I guess Cher got over it because she and Barbra are friends now and socialize frequently. A recent tweet of Cher's was 'I love the Brolins!" Jennifer Hudson cannot act and could not carry a music drama like A Star Is Born. There is no musical star in Hollywood who could do the part. If they remake the movie, it should be closer to the original and be a straight drama about actors, not singers.

• For real--Cher was up for the role before Streisand. I thought Eastwood was going to do a remake with Justina Timberfake and Be-fucking-wigged?

• R19 Streisand was the producer and put up some of the financing. It was her production company that made the picture. That's kind of like saying so and so was up for the role of Lucy Ricardo, but at the last minute the network went with Ball.

• Here's the perfect casting. Esperanza Spaulding and Luke Evans, both can sing and will compliment each other. By the way Esperanza was the one who beat out Justin Bieber for a Grammy, who got all the hate mail for it.

• R31, everyone is getting it wrong. The idea is to cast it with people whose lives mirror those in the film. My choice is Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green or Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Brodrick.

• R27 did you SEE Dreamgirls? The stage musical was sung through, but the movie most certainly wasn't. Plenty of dialogue.
