Despite being a complete slut, you have never had an STI
How have you done it?
Being lesbian :)
Does crabs count?
Easily avoided. Take precautions and don't be a "slut". You can still have tons of fun with a smaller stable of partners. I'm 49 and I have never had one (and hopefully never will).
Never (so far). However I always use a condom for anal and avoid cumming in the mouth for hook ups. I'm willing to be more lax in a serious relationship but those two simple things make hook ups a lot safer.
Save it R1. Cunts are full of disgusting bacteria. Don't play the superior card. It's absurd.
As for me, I have never had anything. I mean that literally as I am a virgin. I don't go for casual sex.
As a high school senior I had a case of tonsillitis so severe as to require hospitalization and I.V. antibiotics. I've always wondered if I actually caught something by sucking anonymous cock in the park.
being celibate since college. I am very STI-phobic.
In my 20's and early 30's I was a complete whore (I always used condoms, though) and all I ever got was crabs a couple of times.
I've NEVER had an STI/STD, OP. Admittedly I'm not a huge slut, but I've had my moments.
I've been with 500+ guys, but I only ever had crabs, and THAT was, as far as I could tell, from someone's bedding.
No STI or STD. But 90% of what I did was blowing dudes.
Just crabs, so far
r10, that is disturbing. Over 500 partners. Ewww, dude.
I've had worms.
R5 = VERY insecure
R13 would be great on a fishing trip
Just crabs, twice.
[quote]However I always use a condom for anal and avoid cumming in the mouth for hook ups.
R4. Okay, of course I get the use of condoms, but how does you avoiding cumming in someone else's mouth save you from an STD?
You're still receiving the blow job, so what's the STD concern for you about shooting in your partner's mouth?
I've been with 17 guys since the age of 18
I've had 0 STIs/STDs
I've only barebacked once (as a top), when I was 19, and I've only bottomed 7 times.
Sadly, I'm not even as sexually active as some of my friends and acquaintances, but I know for a fact that I get tested more regularly. Part of that has to do with the fact that I'm in the military; however, I'm also pretty vigilant web it comes to my health.
The way I wrote it was unclear but I don't let other people come in my mouth on hookups. I don't make an effort to come in theirs either, but yeah that doesn't really make a difference to me if it happens. Who knows how important that actually is but at least it makes me feel safer.
HPV and herpes often go undetected, as they are not part of a standard STI screening battery. Many, many gay men simply do not test for these or any STI other than HIV but are so very, very sure they are "100% clean."
[quote]Many, many gay men simply do not test for these or any STI other than HIV but are so very, very sure they are "100% clean."
I work in Health Care and HPV and Herpes are actually part of standard STI screening for Gay men.
You are either a liar or ridiculously uninformed, r21. Look atcthe CDC recommendations. First, there is no HPV test for men. Second, herpes testing is not standard. You have to ask for it specifically, unless the doctor is especially vigilant. If they did, too many people would test positive - right now, 90% don't know they have it.
I've had syphilis and gonorrhea, but other than that I'm clean as a whistle.
Trust me R22, you are technically correct, of course but there is not a doctor in the city with even the smallest amount of gay partners who does not order every STD test for their gay clients.
and r24 wins! Doctors treating gay men usually go beyond CDC standards. These same doctors do check regularly for the symptoms of HPV infection.
If you are one of the people who have genital HSV2 (what people normally consider "herpes") but never have shown any symptoms/don't know you have it studies have shown you are "only" contagious about 10% of the time at least. Nothing to shrug at, but maybe some consolation considering that yes tons of people walk around without knowing they have herpes and it normally isn't tested in a standard STI test.
R25, while you declare victors, you might want to examine your assumptions. First, you assume that all men who have sex with men live in New York or whatever "the city" means to you. Second, that they go to doctors regularly or at all. Third, that they disclose their sexual preference and activity. Fourth, that doctors who treat MSM actually test according to your model and not the CDC's for gay men. Your victory declaration should be taken with a grain of salt, since you describe a tiny fraction of a sliver of the population.
Aren't you a sour little twat r27!
The dude who slept with over 500 partners should disclose his promiscuous sexual history to every prospective partner so they can give informed consent. Such a person is an inherent health risk and should come with a warning label.
What if those 500 each involved nothing more than frottage and mutual masturbation? Is he still an inherent health risk?
You can get herpes from frottage, r30.
[quote]I've been with 500+ guys, but I only ever had crabs, and THAT was, as far as I could tell, from someone's bedding.
No STI or STD. But 90% of what I did was blowing dudes.
Have fun with throat cancer.
Crabs two or three times.
R 21/r25/r28 doesn't seem very knowledgeable for someone working in health care. Checking for HPV or HSV symptoms is not conclusive. Many people having those STIs are asymptomatic. A visual screen is not the same as a test. Oh and name-calling doesn't support your argument at all.
Look r34, we get it. As far as you're concerned everyone who has lots of sex automatically has lots of diseases. There is no safer sex and all gay men lie about having diseases. You're 48 and still waiting for the special someone who can 'take your flower' and while it seems like everyone else is having fun, you find solace in the fact that they are all disease infected sluts while you are a paragon of morality and clean living.
Way to attack a total straw man, r35.
I was trying to keep your odor out of this.
All of your arguments have been refuted (Most doctors DO routinely test gay men for Herpes and check for HPV symptoms)... even doctors outside New York City... they have access to the same literature.
Nothing left really but an attack on the straw man... It's okay. He's disease free.
"I've been with 500+ guys, but I only ever had crabs, and THAT was, as far as I could tell, from someone's bedding."
Yeah, you got crabs from "bedding." Don't delude yourself, hon. You got them by fucking somebody who had them living in his crotch.
R38 Judge much? I personally got them from bedding during a period of celibacy. My next door neighbor (female)bank analyst lol, also got them. We made popcorn and were watching a movie in my roommates bed while he was off being an "air mattress." She went to the nurse at JP Morgan because she had no clue, she was pissed....I bought Kwell. Other than that never caught anything and I had occasional unprotected sex in NYC during the 80's.
I was a total slut back in my 20s, in the 70s.
I got crabs once, and hepatitis. Those experiences convinced me I was not immune or immortal, so I became much more careful after that.
So I am still alive.
I was never a slut but to make sure I didn't feel left out a former boyfriend kindly surprised me with a case of gonorrhea (which he caught from oral sex). The fool denied doing anything behind my back when I, concerned that my dick was leaking pus, asked him if he'd cheated, and he only came clean (so to speak) when I returned from the doctor's with the official diagnosis. Live and learn.
I know someone who got crabs from a bathtub
Who's judging? I just find it implausible that someone who's had 500+ sex partners got crabs from "bedding."
I wish. I've always tried to be safe, but the first guy I had sex with excused himself and I thought he was going to get a condom and lube since we had met for oral twice before and he mentioned that he had condoms and since we were doing it in his and his wife's bed I assumed he wouldn't bareback. I previously told him I was a virgin. After we did it I said "you wore a condom, right?" "No." So, I think I got anal HPV from him although he said he and his wife didn't have HPV. I only bottomed for 3 other guys and they all wore condoms, unless I got it from being fingered or rimmed.
I hardly ever kiss, but I met some guy 2 years ago and he was hot but when he pulled his pants down there was a wet spot. Since I really try to avoid HIV I don't even want pre-cum in my mouth so we ended up kissing for 2 hours. I met him again 10 days later and we kissed again for a 2 hours. A week later I got more sick than I have in a decade and went to the ER on a weekend b/c I had a 102 degree fever. I emailed him to confirm that he didn't have HIV or STD's like he said, and he said he didn't have STD's but has herpes. So that fucker gave me herpes on my lips. I hate him.
There's a drug being worked on called DRACO that supposedly can cure any virus (HIV, HPV, Herpes) so I'm really hoping it pans out...quick.
What's with all the judgment? We're all anonymous - rather than shame each other, wouldn't it be more interesting to get a more accurate picture of what we're all really doing?
Exactly R45. The anecdotal posts are interesting and informative.
The judgmental ones are irrelevant and self-serving, and belong on some other thread.
[quote] Third, that they disclose their sexual preference
Lost me there R27
Sorry to offend your delicate sensibilities, r47. I missed the shift where "sexual preference" became a marker of homophobia, regardless of how many cocks one has sucked. While you fan yourself, the point remains the same - many, many men who have sex with other men do not disclose this to their doctors. Chill the fuck out.
Was going to get the Subaru WRX STI but decided on the Legacy instead.
I had frottage cheese once.
Here R48, since you're clearly too fucking stupid to figure this out for yourself:
Preference implies choice.
I "prefer" blonde men over, say, dark haired. That's my preference.
But I am "oriented" towards all men in general.
Now, we fought against this for years because the straights kept telling us it was a choice. And they loved the term "sexual preference" because it was one more way to say that what we did was unnatural.
I hope this explains why some entitled message board cunt can kindly go fuck him or herself with this "preference" bullshit.
And you can get way the fuck over yourself and your whining, your perpetual fucking victim.
Another twice crabs guy, and I would also swear once was not from sex.
Nothing else but I was always practicing safer sex when I was a slut.
And who are these people who find having sex with over 500 people "icky"? That's a low number for a lot of us, including me.
And it was fun!
10 years monogamous.
I've had WELL Over 500 guys. Or been had. And I'm a healthy professional in a long term relationship. Whoever is selling this prudish fiction is hilarious. We fuck; we love it.
There seems to be some misinformation here regarding HPV. My assumption has to be that those trying to explain it all have had no experience with it as an active virus.
First for those that need to judge, nearly everyone carries some strain of HPV, even nuns, so whether you're a "slut" or not is irrelevant. And condoms do not prevent contracting it.
What is relevant is whether you body can clear the virus, it just lies dormant or causes other problems. Very few people can't clear the virus. Even with a robust immune system, I'm one of the few that couldn't clear it. Mine was rectal.
You're doctor should look for warts at regular check ups.
If you have severe itching, unusual pain or bleeding get it checked. Make sure any wart has a biopsy done. Some can have high grade dysplasia, this will lead to sarcomas/cancer if not removed. Once removed it shouldn't be a problem but frequent check ups there after for the rest of your life are required.
By the way,I've been in a monogamous relationship for 15 years, this started just last year at 48 years old. Judge away.....
Thank you R54 - imagine how much healthier we'd all have if we could have frank discussions about body issues without all that "you're a whore, darlin'" nonsense.
Let's all be massive cunts to one another, but allowing each other to lie in medical misery is just cruel - and we're not that, right?
R54, here again...
Lying at an exam to your doctor is a joke. I thought I was having hemorrhoid issues. I said NOTHING to the colon-rectal doctor, he did the exam and asked if I gay/bisexual, or had existing problems with warts or HPV. Any competent doctor will draw conclusions and verify them with you.
Why would you lie to a doctor?
This doctor isn't gay himself, but was very matter of fact explaining the issues and procedures. He didn't judge, his job is to make his patients well. If you're uncomfortable being honest with you doctor, maybe you need a different doctor, its your health. But again, a good doctor will draw some conclusions simply from your symptoms.
It's really pretty terrible that people on here think that having an STI makes someone less moral... or not having had one makes one more; that you can quantify someone's "purity" based on the numbers of partners or sexual encounters they've ever had.
It's sick shit... and it's also the reason why people don't talk with their doctors about their sexual histories in general or use many of the numerous medicines to protect themselves from STIs specifically.
The whole Truvada / PReP is regimen is going to cause major drama in the coming years.
STIs mean you're a slut. You noticed how wild animals never get them.
"Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are on the rise in the U.S., to the point where even senior citizens are seeing upswings in infections. But STDs also occur throughout the animal kingdom, in species from mammals to insects to birds. And recent progress on a chlamydia vaccine for koalas may even lead to breakthroughs in vaccinating humans against sexually transmited infections."
Stop living like animals controlled by impulses. Actions have consequences.
Folks should stop sleeping around. IT is unhealthy
"However I always use a condom for anal and avoid cumming in the mouth for hook ups"
How does avoid cumming in the mouth for hookups help keep you from an STI? Your cumming in someone else's mouth isn't going to give you an STI any more than penetrating the mouth to begin with. And you can get an STI in your mouth having a penis in it without that penis coming. If the guy has a urethral infection he doesn't have to ejaculate in your mouth to infect you. If you have a urethral infection you don't have to ejaculate in his mouth to infect him.
No STIs - plenty of slutty periods in my life...
r65, you can get gonorrhea just by receiving oral sex, assuming no condom used of course. The danger is especially present from deep throating. The head of the penis making contact with a pharynx is what's dangerous. The pharynx is a hospitable environment for gonorrhea.
As for me, never had an STI. I've never barebacked. Condoms only. They work.
R53, you just got plain lucky. Don't go around selling this shit that it's okay to be a slut and not reap the consequences. And what does being a professional have to do with being healthy? Oh yeah, my upper income prevents me from getting an STID.
I agree with the poster who said some doctors go beyond the CDC requirements for lab testing when it comes to gay men. They will order herpes testing and sometimes a hepatitis panel along with the routine STDs.
But everything relies on the patient giving an honest history to his doctor. I had a wife call me about her husband whom she noticed the "blisters" near his anal area.. She made him go to the doctor to check it out but he didn't mention one thing about it at his doctor's visit. His doctor ended up treating him for an anxiety problem only. In the meantime, the wife is freaking out about getting STDs and calling the doctor's office non-stop and asking about her risk from getting those "warts".. Since we cannot give out his information due to HIPAA, I had to retrieve her husband's chart and give it to the doctor to let him decide. We ordered STD tests for her. I don't know the follow up but I assume the doctor made her husband come back in for another appointment.
Obviously, the man was on the down-low but he should at least been honest with his doctor.
yes, I understand that r67. That was exactly my point: ejaculation is not the issue.
" you just got plain lucky. Don't go around selling this shit that it's okay to be a slut and not reap the consequences."
thank you, r68. just because you haven't reaped the consequences yet doesn't mean your behavior was any less unwise and unhealthy.
James Deen the porn star says he has NEVER gotten an sti.
How is that possible. He's fucked hundreds of women bareback, the vast majority of whom are literal whores.
Is he lying or an idiot who doesn't know what he's caught? Porn doesn't test for herpes or HPV, right? And didn't the la county health dept do a survey that showed the porn industry is crawling with gonorrhea and chlamydia?
No STDs says my tests.
Never had one. Celibate with respect to dudes, and very monogamous with selective few women.
Most people don't know they've got or had an STI. Often the infection is asymptomatic, particularly with HPV. So most of you so sure you've never in fact probably just aren't aware you did.
Never, ever. And don't plan on ever getting one. And it's not because I abstain, I'm just very careful. And selective.
