What movies are you most looking forward to this year?

Obviously many more will emerge throughout the year. Currently at the top of my list are: Stoker Elysium Almodovar's I'm So Excited Passion Nymphomaniac Dallas Buyer's Club

• Regurgitated crap featuring superheroes in sequels or my favorite nostalgia TV shows or board games brought to the big screen!

• I'm sort of anticipating "The Great Gatsby," though I fear the worst.

• Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmasters" with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Zhang Ziyi

• "August: Osage County" -- I can't believe you left that off your list, OP. Meryl will be shattering in this. Also looking forward to "Elysium", especially Jodie Foster's role in it. Naomi Watts as Princess Diana will be fun, but she'll have no chance against Streep. The trailer for "Stoker" looks like shit. Nicole Kidman ruins any film she's in. That's all.

• I like all of Baz Lhurmann's movies so The Great Gatsby. Would love to have seen how he would have directed Le Miz.

• Pacific Rim with Idris Elba AND Charlie Hunamm!!!!

• Watts as Diana will be meh. Not expecting much from Kidman as Grace Kelly either. Gangster Squad looks exciting, like a flashy vapid LA Confidential, or The Untouchables.

• What about 'Star Trek Into Darkness'? I thought everyone was jazzed for this film.

• I forgot Kidman will be Grace Kelly. How preposterous... Grace Kelly !!! What is it with this woman that they keep giving her all these roles? Most overrated actress of this century, that's for sure.

• Other than 'August: Osage County', the biggest film event of 2013 will be 'Twelve Years a Slave', the total antidote to 'Django Unchained'. Spike Lee is going to be pleased. I predict nominatinos for: Chiwetel Ejiofor (lead), Ben Cumberbatch and Michael Fassbender (supporting), McQueen (directing), film, screenplay, and everything else too. Fassbender plays a monster in this film, an update of Schindler's List's Amon Goeth. Expect him to win. This will be the chance for the Academy to: a) compensate Fassbender & McQueen for ignoring 'Shame', and 2) to appease the Spike Lee faction out there, who'll cry foul when Django is nominated next week. TYAS will be the realistic portrayal of slavery-as-holocaust, that Lee thinks is absent in both Django and Hollywood at large. It also stars this year's it girl Quvenshane Wallis and her co-star Dwight Henry. Brad Pitt is in it too (unfortunately), as well as Alfre Woodard, Paul Giamatti, and Sarah Paulson.

• Kristin Scott-Thomas could well win supporting for 'Only God Forgives'. Sounds like a great role! And she is overdue for Oscar recognition. But she'll have to compete against Margo Martindale in 'August: Osage County'.
