Aziz Ansari
Everyone under 30 at work finds him hilarious. On "Parks and Rec" he's incredibly annoying with terrible timing, so I checked out his standup, thinking it might be better. It's actually worse.
It's a generational thing, isn't it?

- I love him. I love all the "Parks and Rec" people, actually.
I'd say it's more of a personal humor thing, though, OP.

- Hate him too

- I agree with r2's second statement, it really is your personal humor. I love shows like 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Portlandia, and other "absurdist" single-camera shows. My husband hates all of those but loves 3-camera comedies, especially ones with slapstick and toilet humor.
- What R2 and R4 said. I think he's hilarious, but it's not a generational thing.

- I like him.

- What sort of loser even talks to low-level under 30 employees at work?
- I'm 51 and think he's hilarious. Never watched P&R, though.
- I like all the single camera shows & especially P & R, but he is my least favorite on the show. That said, I think he is SUPPOSED to be our least favorite.
- I don't know anything about his comedy, but I think he's adorable. I want to snuggle with him naked under a fluffy down comforter on a cold night.
- r9, I agree with you about liking the single-camera comedies, and I get the fact that Ansari is supposed to be annoying and unlikable on P&R -- I just don't think he's good at it. The rest of the actors are a pretty skilled ensemble, and his whole thing is mugging.
OP
- I think his stand-up is pretty hacky but I have to be honest - he makes me laugh. My dad who is pushing 60 and is definitely not a cool-dad type LOVES him, a fact which I can make neither heads nor tails of.
- He's interesting.
I've just seen his stand-up on Comedy Central though.
What little I've seen his comedy has these themes:
1) His nephew Harris, "fat, brown, and on the ground."
2) His hobnobbing with other celebrities, like JayZ, Beyonce, and R. Kelly, etc.
3) His "Randy" schtick.
4) His problems dating.
Might wear thin quickly -- time will tell.
- I think he's pretty funny. I was watching his latest stand up special last night and laughed out loud a couple of times.

- His sensuality is overpowering and causes me not to be able to pay much attention to his performance.
- The only comedian I've ever laughed at is Eddie Izzard, and I'm under 30.
- I think his comedy acts are pretty funny. What's not funny is that in every talk show appearance he's done he just does his act. Word for Word. Every time.
- I am old enough to be the OP's daddy and I think he is hilarious. He is also cute, I want him
- I think he's hilarious. Also, r10.

- He went to my high school. I don't find him amusing.
- r10, I would do that as well. I think he's adorable, especially those big eyes.
- I think he's very funny and charming on Parks & Rec and also in the movie 30 Minutes or Less. However, I heard two snippets from his stand-up act on comedy radio, and they were both dreadful.
- I think he is funny, especially on Parks and Recreation (especially the first season). I like his comedy specials OK, but I prefer him in TV shows, movies, and on talk shows. I think he is cute and would like to cuddle with him, too. He has gay friends, too, that he talks about in his standup routine so that is a plus.
- He's horrible, but we need an Arab-American comic to ease the guilt over our actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- NBC has more East Asian sitcom characters than African American sitcom characters.
