- Patti's best work!

- I personally think this is the pinnacle of Patti's music...followed closely by her duet with Michael McDonald.

- I agree R2

- It is her cooking
- Her music with Labelle is much more interesting than her solo work, though I'm fond of "If You Asked Me To."
- OP, there are many great LaBelle classics, but if you wanna take it to church, then this is the tune for you...

- Another great one. With Michael McDonald...

- I always preferred the peppy "Stir It Up" to her other pop hit at the time, "New Attitude"...

- R2, that's what I'm afraid of. I just don't care for that style of music. I love "Lady Marmalade" but the adult contemporary pap she did in the '80s & '90s is incredibly boring to me.
- She (they) did a very interesting version of "Wild Horses" in the 70s.
Yes, the 80s stuff is pap. I'm glad R10 came right out and said it.

- Watch Patti turn out "Isn't It A Shame," complete with drama queen histrionics. She is awesome live.

- R17, How the HELL did you make that video show up in your post?
- Watch Patti turn out "You Are So Beautiful" with Joe Cocker (Billy Preston on keys).

- I am not much of a fan of Patti, but she is fun live.
This is her best work to me, singing background, with Labelle, on Laura Nyro's Gonna Take a Miracle album.
It's been a long Time Coming is also a great song with Labelle. It was used as the closing song in the movie "Precious."

- Patti and Cyndi Lauper having a sing off on Time After Time.
They are well matched and I think good friends? It is pretty sweet.
I have fun memories of my mother stoned and making me watch this repeatedly on VHS.

- I'm actually quite partial to this album:

- If You Asked Me To. The only song of hers I can stand. For the most part she leaves her irritating mannerisms and shrieking out of the song. She takes it down a notch or two and that's a good thing.

- I tend to like her "mannerisms and shrieking," R24 -- but If You Asked Me To is my favorite Patti L. song. Thanks for sharing it.
- The Music Is My Life, a fierce disco number

- I always liked her song "Yo Mister" that Prince wrote and produced for her. I don't know why it wasn't a hit because it's really good.

- I Don't Go Shopping is one of my favorites. Does Patti still perform live?
