You know that unpleasantly stuffed feeling you get after a huge meal?

What does it mean when you wake up feeling that way, and still feel that way 3 hours later despite having eaten nothing.

• I did make a pudding with whole flax seeds, once I eat that it should shove out anything unless it is viral.

• It means you may be an eldergay as digestion slows down as one ages. It is not apparent day-to=day but after a festal indulgence it may take 24 hrs to process the full intake. Eg., I rarely eat red meat because I now take longer to process it. If I do, it's for dinner on Friday or Saturday and possibly for lunch during the week. Anticipate and adjust.

• I am not a scientist nor a nutritionist, but I think it means you probably ate too much.

• ...ah but I didn't eat too much. Last night's meal was a small salad and some vegetable soup. No red meat, no bread, light and simple. Not yet 40, but getting close. I went to bed feeling fine and woke up feeling like I ate the world. I took a gas thing in case it was air.... The pudding is almost done. Let's see if the flax seed does anything.

• Can you describe your symptoms in a bit more detail, OP? Is your stomach bloated? Are you belching? Do you feel queasy? What else have you eaten in the past 24 hours? It might be that you haven't eaten enough.

• Bloated? Did you eat any breads? Any dairy? Your salad & soup was a good meal, but what kind of soup? What was in the salad? What kind of dressing? It's possible you got something from the salad greens not being properly washed? Maybe something was spoiled? How much water are you drinking, OP? Are you eating a lot of sweets?

• Forgot to ask if you are exercising or are you sedentary too much?

• My stomach is not bloated. I am not belching. I do not feel queasy. I woke up feeling this way but did not have bread or dairy yesterday though I do have it sometimes. Cabbage soup with vegetables. Dressing was a touch of olive oil and vinegar. Salad greens were washed. I drink a good amount of water. I never eat sweets, I actually dislike sugar.

• I've felt like that before and it ended up being the very first symptom of a stomach bug. Be prepared just in case, OP.

• I think you may be right R29. I will wait and see but stay hydrated just in case.

• Gastroparesis, OP. A/K/A delayed gastric emptying. I've had it for almost 20 years, along with GERD and pyloric stenosis. It is bad beyond description. Get yourself checked out.

• It could be hiatal hernia. About 60% of Americans have that. It can be managed without surgery, but it should not be just ignored.

• R29 I think is right. I remember that feeling when I had the Norovirus. Not only did I feel full but stomach felt warm as well. Then the shits and vomiting started. I was not hungry ad couldn't eat for four days.

• R35 one symptom. I feel like I ate an enormous meal, I feel stuffed. As far as not enough food, that is a normal dinner for me. Breakfast like a king, lunch a prince, dinner a pauper. I tend not to eat meat at night. I did have breakfast and no change in the feeling. I do think it is viral now, nothing else makes sense.

• Whatever it was it is gone today. I could not abide the idea of much dinner so I had a touch of fish and greens, went to bed early and today woke up feeling normal.
