He was magnetic. So gorgeous that it almost hurt to look at him. It's worth watching these scenes from ATWT just to see his animal magnetism. It's especially worth watching from 2:34 to just after the 3-minute mark just to hear him talking about being in the middle of a field, "...buck naked with the lightning all around me..."
I remember having crushes on some guys on soaps (Brian Bloom being one), but Jon was different. Here was this guy that wasn't just cute, wasn't just handsome, he exuded sex - and to my young teen age eyes, he had that hairy chest that just shouted carnal sex to me.
I told TomHughesFan/ScottHolmesFan about this thread so WATCH YOUR STEP!!!!!
I must say, I was pretty much completely unaware of Hensley until I clicked on this thread, but he's scorching hot in that clip in OP's link. I almost want to say I've never seen anyone hotter -- that face, that body, the chest hair, and that voice. Just breathtaking. I'm going to have to research this fellow!
Maybe Grant Show can give us some additional details?
Until I clicked on the link I thought we were talking about the guy from Nip/Tuck. Totally different person.
Jon's now recurring as Dr. Mead on the show our sister recently left after 25 years. They killed her off.
I'd like him to fuck me and he's my daddy!
He's no trucker.
They've been talking about him on another soap thread. He used to let Doug Marland suck his toes.
Yes, r14 - literally.
How would it work figuratively?
Is he wearing a hairpiece in R2's clip?
I have no idea who he is but the OP's description intrigued me, and Henskey was pretty hot. Still, what was up with the horses neighing in that clip?
Jon is the number one choice for a recast Bo Brady on Days.
What about me? I was a star! I wrote a song for a guy I met...WHO WAS MARRIED! The bastard.
Martha wasn't homely, but she was kind of a plain Jane. The thought of Dusty and Holden fighting over her was ridiculous.
Although in my dreams, Holden and Dusty found true love together in the stables, with Holden bending Dusty over a haystack and slipping it in his tight hole.
[quote]Although in my dreams, Holden and Dusty found true love together in the stables, with Holden bending Dusty over a haystack and slipping it in his tight hole.
There's some quality fanfiction just begging to be written from this.
i never thought he was gay, but that recent interview from holland sure made me think twice...
Me too, R30! I've never seen him interviewed before that, and when I watched it last night, my gaydar went off big time.
Got his job by letting Doug Marland work on his feet. Same with John Wesley Shipp and Richard Burgi.
Who knew Doug was a foot fetishist? Wow. How do we know this is true, by the way?
According to Jon's Twitter, the late Paul Rauch gave him his first daytime gig, on OLTL.
Awww... Martha was never "homely." In fact, when she was young, she kind of had a Brooke Shields thing going on. But as time went on, the show made Lily more and more matronly, with frau-ish hairstyles and wardrobe choices. And then when Rose appeared, it got even worse. Lily wore nothing but brown, gray, and maroon for a good three years.
Martha is not hot. She is a frau, but she was never much to look at as a teen anyway. For an actress who morphed from sexpot to soccer mom sowfraucow before our very eyes, see Kim Zimmer.
Meh. You soap queens.
Are there any male soap actors that are pretty well known to be gay and do little to hide it?
R43, Thom Bierdz is one. Also, Jeff Trachta (ex-Thorne, B&B) and Terry Lester, the original Jack on Y&R was gay.
I never understood why he and Show both eventually bearded up. They'd lived together for years, and worked that entire time. Show bought the rights to "The Front Runner" at one point and tried to produce and star in it. It seems so odd that they decided to closet up.
What's The Front Runner, R45? Interestingly enough, Show and Hensley would have made a great couple, aesthetically, anyway.
It was a book about a gay athlete at the Olympics who falls in love with his closeted coach. They start sleeping together, but something tragic happens to the athlete at the Olympics. It was supposedly a popular book at the time it was released (written by a straight woman!). Paul Newman tried to get it produced at one time, with plans to play the coach. It ended up never being made. Show got the rights after Newman, I think.
Wow, that makes me believe even more that Newman may have secretly been gay. There's a screen test of him with James Dean on Youtube where you can clearly tell they both have the hots for one another.
Yeah, he started on OLTL as a zombie studmuffin. He played mad scientist Ivan Kipling's brainwashed henchman, perrennially shirtless.
r48...I always thought both Newman and Woodward pinged. And she was engage to Gore Vidal at one point.
[quote]I never understood why he and Show both eventually bearded up. They'd lived together for years, and worked that entire time.
Does anyone have that pic that was published of them in one of the soap mags back in the 80s, in which both of them had matching diamond stud earrings in the left ear?
Thank you for reminding me of Terry Lester, R44. My God, I always thought he was so incredibly sexy. Never knew he was gay. Too bad, he died of a heart attack in 2003. R.I.P. Here he is in his hairy hot glory coming out of the shower in an old episode of Dallas.
DD is handsome, and it's funny they've implied he's huge hung as Bill Spencer....but he looks a little too Vegas/fakey to me.
Don has worn speedos many times in the past on Y&R, and while he never looked hung, I certainly would never kick him out of bed. In fact, I'd handcuff him to the bedpost.
I should say, I was hoping B&B would have signed Jon to a contract.
Some queen I used to know who did hair and makeup in LA swore that DD used to be a frequent visitor to the casting couches and that rumor had it he was very well hung. Take that with a huge grain of salt, though I could see DD fucking his way to the top!
I had watched ATWT back in the day when Holden and Lily were first getting together. Good stuff. Jon was so hot. Quit watching for years until I hears they were making their son gay. Didn't realize that Holden wasn't really Luke's father. I could tell Van wanted Jon in him, quite deeply. Amazing how Jon held up so much better than some 80s soap studs.
Grant Show is gay? When did he buy the rights to "The Front Runner?"
Don Diamont always looks like he has an inch thick layer of foundation on in every photo of his I've seen.
So was his hair dyed back then? Or is it dyed now?
[quote]When did he buy the rights to "The Front Runner?"
He didn't. He was, however, signed to star in a film adaptation that never got off the ground, 'round about 1986.
Jon is still married to Kelley Menighen. I think Kelley is beautiful for what it's worth. She has that sweet Irish beauty about her. Nice smile etc so on. The one problem is that Jon is prettier than she is!He must have both mussy and pussy hitting on him left and right.
As per Don Diamont being gay. That hair cutting queen must have been on meth before there even was meth! After Days, he's worked on Bald and the Boring and the Old and The Rested for years. It's not like he's been in blockbuster films like Tammy Cruise or anything. And Old Bill Bell was a mean mean man. I would do anything to make him look like a fool but he wasn't doing DD.
r72 Thanks for the link about the Front Runner. Never knew Grant was signed to play Billy Sive.
Grant, circa 1986 when the film was set to go into production, would have been perfect for the part. Exquisite body (which he showed off frequently in his shirtless scenes on Ryan's Hope). And a very good actor too.
Grant and Jon both studied at RADA
Did Doug Marland have many FF scenes on his soaps with Jon or any of his other male stars? Are there any clips?
RADA=Rim and Driss Ass
[quote]written by a straight woman
"The Front Runner" was written by the openly gay Patricia Nell Warren.
R72...I saw an interview with Show (magazine) in which he talked about trying to get the film made and this was after Newman had dropped out of it.
He's better looking than his black half brother the late Sherman.
[quote]Van wanted Jon inside of him quite deeply.
I thought Van was top only.
[quote]He's better looking than his black half brother the late Sherman.
That's Sherman HEMSLEY, not HENSLEY, mothafucka!
r70, we do know Diamont is cut. Born Donald Feinberg, he was encouraged to use his mother's maiden name to avoid being ethnically typecast. Today he embraces the Jewish faith.
Don Diamont used to bone Gloria Loring.
[quote]he was encouraged to use his mother's maiden name to avoid being ethnically typecast.
"Diamont" is at least as Jewish as (if not more so than) Feinberg. You'd think he'd have gone for something soap-ish like "Don Cartwright" or something.
I would like to know what R82 is smoking.
I'd like to "smoke" Jon's pole.
So, how hairy do we think his hole is?
Van has never topped in his life. He's a service bottom and couldn't get hard in any other role.
He's returning to The Bold and the Beautiful for a few episodes, filmed last week.
He's too hot for words, even as a fortysomething daddy.
Saw Diamont at a Starbucks recently, in Bev. Hills. Looks good, but skin is pulled extremely tight. It gives him a snake-skin , heading toward Liberace territory, look. What saves him is he's tall, and well built - but he'll never see 40-45, looks wise again ( he's almost 52). The jet black dyed hair is a bit disturbing too.
Thanks for bumping my thread! I'd forgotten all about it!
[quote] What saves him is he's tall, and well built
And hung like a horse.
Jon Hensley is so through with acting. He said in SOD if her won the lottery, he would be on the golf course everyday.
I believe he's a shorty.
Speaking of his wife, I remember being very puzzled by her being picked to replace the luscious Melanie Smith to play Emily, but eventually I got used to her.
Jon and Grant Show were "roomies" during their early soap days. If you looked like the one of them, could you live with the other without wanting to devour him each and every night? Just sayin.
Melanie Smith looked like a call girl.
Jon was hot n heavy with Missy Reeves back in the day.
Damian Gramaldi & Holden Snyder - the sexual tension was evident from the very first meeting:
I can't believe it's been four years since ATWT went off the air.
It's been three years since ATWT went off, r117!
Yp, Guiding Light in 2009, ATWT in 2010.
"Melanie Smith looked like a call girl."
You say that like it's a bad thing, r114! All the better to drive Barbara crazy.
"so good looking it almost hurt to look at him"
That IS a MARY! moment, to be sure.
Love this thread. How do you know Don Diamont has a big cock, r107?
DD never looks like he's packing as much as, say, Doug Davidson (who is ALWAYS bulging in jeans), but he's so good looking that it doesn't matter if he's not huge.
Here's an incredibly hilarious scene with Elizabeth Hubbard and Scott Bryce where Lucinda moves in to seduce Craig in the barn, who basically succumbs to her like a lamb to the slaughter - Lucinda's evil laughter of orgasmic triumph is only heightened by the sexy jazz version of the 80s ATWT theme. Start the video at 4:50 and witness the sheer MAGIC!
R125, I love that scene; I remember.
Love when he asks her why are you here and Lucy says she owns the stables.
The thread's back! Love the scene with Holden & Lilly.
R23 so hairy arms do indicate a hairy hole?
Sure he is sexy but he ain't all that. I think you soap queens think more of him than the average gay boy does.
[quote]so hairy arms do indicate a hairy hole?
Oh, for sure. With hairy arms like those, you know the chest, stomach, and ass crack are hairy (and Jon does have a hairy chest...)
[quote]Sure he is sexy but he ain't all that
Back in the day, he was definitely all that. He's still good looking.
