So why is the fiscal cliff bad exactly?
Democrats get a big tax increase (revenue) - which is what they supposedly "really" want - according to the Republicans.
Republicans get a huge spending cut across the board - which is what they "really" want according to the Democrats.
So - both parties get exactly what they want. Bad for us I guess, since it means more taxes, but if it takes a huge bite out of the deficit is it a foul dose of medicine that we need to swallow for a year or two?
Tell me why it's bad and I'll tell you which party is wrong.
- show me a rose or leave me alone.
- Democrats don't want the tax increase on middle income earners or the deep spending cuts.
Republicans don't want tax increases.
- Because the welfare queens that voted for Welfare Obama won't get their checks and will riot.
Seriously all it means is that we will have to cut back spending.
We don't need tax increases because we pay TOO MUCH TAX now.
It's just government is wasteful. We need to cut back on government and pay people in government jobs like the private sector and we'd have a surplus of money.
- Wrong R3
"We don't need tax increases because we pay TOO MUCH TAX now."
Taxes are as low as they have been in many decades. Tax rates for the wealthy are lower than they have been since the 20s.
