I Promised to Take Some Kids to see "The Hobbit."

Would it be enhanced by the IMAX 3-D or HFR 3D, or should I stick with the regular? I tend to get annoyed with 3D hoopla.

• From what I've heard, the IMAX 3-D is just too much of a good thing to the point of being distracting. But kids might like it that way.

• I loved the HFR 3D. Not a fan of the LOTR movies but the HFR makes it look like you're watching everything live. This would probably annoy me with most films, but I thought it was pretty cool doing dragons and trolls and shit being presented as if you were watching reality.

• The kids will definitely want 3D.

• Buy a bootleg Betamax copy

• I saw both and the 2D is less hard on the eyes.

• The rest of the audience will be enhanced by mouth gags and sedatives for your "kids." Uncle Troll.

• Take them to the regular film. They're lucky they're going anywhere. If they were my kids I would never bring the to the movies. That's why I don't have kids

• It's about the kids, not about you, OP. Look up some reviews to see how people have found the various options, then ask the kids.

• Buy the book and read it to them
