Vivien Leigh has died
CNN is reporting her death. She was 53. Tuberculosis is suspected to be the cause of death. Rest in peace, Vivien.
- Yep, she has died, in July 1967, shortly before my 3rd birthday.
- Thanks for the news flash.
- Is she dead, or dead dead?
Whoppie
- Well fiddle-dee-dee!
- "I'll think about that tomorrow".
- And hopefully the OP will soon follow
- In other news, The War of 1812 is finally over.
- Frankly, OP?
You%20know%20the%20rest.
- I can't think about this today; I'll go crazy. I'll think about this tomorrow.
- One of my favorite scenes. 'Ship of Fools', just a couple years ago....

- Don't fret. We still have julia Ormond.
- In other news Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
- FUCK! Now there will NEVER be a sequel to Gone With The Wind. First Clark, now Viv. What the hell is the world coming to? At least we still have Judy Garland!
1967
- Smoking and TB are never a good combination.
- In the 70's Bertolucci wanted to do a sequel to Gone With The Wind with Geraldine Page and Walter Matthau, never came to pass, but would have been interesting.
- President and Mrs. Johnson have sent condolences to the family.
- at least spell her name right
- Well, that's just swell. I was going to dodge the draft, but FUCK IT, I may as well go to Vietnam now. This news is so depressing. I went to see Bonnie & Clyde at the drive-in last night, but I was too depressed to enjoy it. Even listening to "Sgt. Pepper" isn't cheering me up. The Beatles have always cheered me up in the past. I hope Star Trek is not a rerun this week. I'll just die. Star Trek is the only thing in my life that I can depend on to make me feel groovy when I'm feeling bummed. Well, I like Mission: Impossible and Get Smart, too. Viv, you were one of a kind. I loved you dearly. I just don't know how I will go on. Oh well, I still have the memories. Maybe they'll play Gone With The Wind on TV one of these days.
Chip
- Just heard the news over the Lear Jet Stereo 8 while warming up the Corvair. The Philco's on the fritz, I just got got back from Rexall's-they have the best tube tester in town. Never seen Gone With the Wind, maybe one day it'll be on TV..
Mary Worth
- The garbage collector and myriad door to door salesmen will be sad.
- WhaaAAt!?
- Jack Nicholson warned her about playing Blanche! The role is cursed!
- CNN didn't exist until the 1980, toots.
FAIL.
- Who?
TMZ

Laurence Jr.
- Lawd! That girl was tetched in the head.
Hattie

- She met her Waterloo Bridge.
Della
- Now I'll be the real Queen of Notley Abby.
Larry
- She took the heavenly streetcar to Tara in the clouds.
- I'm sure this will be thoroughly disturbing news when I'm born several years from now.
- Oh, dear. Not Viv. Do The Monkees know yet? Davy will be devastated.
Gilligan, the Skipper too
- Viv is in heaven now discussing her bi-polar disorder with Judy Garland and Dusty Springfield.
- Homegirl did NOT age well.
- R18 It is spelled right, nitwit!
- No, R36; it should be V-A-N-C-E.
- R37 If it's Vance, it should be V-I-V-I-A-N.
- OMG
A PLANE HIT THE TWIN TOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- I never miss a Vivien Leigh musical.
Except when they name them TOVARICH, fer chrissakes.
- I had heard she wasn't well. Poor thing. She's in a better place now.
Olivia DeHavilland
- R37 You are joking, right?
Tell me you understand there's a difference between Vivien Leigh (actress, Gone With the Wind) and Vivian Vance (actress/comedienne, I Love Lucy)?

The WTC is an insatiable bottom.
- Somehow, I always thought I'd go first.

Sure. Vivien wore drapes. Vivian hung them.
- Although I'm sure it's for the best that she and Olivier never had a child (considering that her struggle with bipolar-ness was manifesting itself by the end of the marriage), still, the world missed out on somebody who probably would have been an incredible actor!
- Her daughter from her first marriage didn't really inherit her beauty.

- R49, Lol.
- I'll wear black but only for a week! Black is not a good color for me.
- Olivia? She's a mealy mouthed ninny and ah hate huh!
- Somebody told me they saw aunt Pittypat in the Atlanta city mall last week, said she was still looking good for her age.
M
- LOL, R47. Can I ride that handbasket with you?
- And I am STILL here, ladies!!!
you all know who I am.
- OP, I think you'd better check the control panel on your Tardis.
- Nothing yet on CNN. For some reason they are obsessed with some runner falling at the Boston Marathon. I'll monitor the situation and report back when when I get more information.
- No, she's only outside looking in.
