Insane "activists"
I know this couple from my college years. They were fun, but total drug addicts (I tried at least three different illegal substances for the first time with them).
They married soon after graduation, but then had an autistic kid. And another, and then a third. (They never said it, but everyone assumes they kept trying for a "normal" one.)
They no longer live near me, but I'm still FB friends with them. She posts more than he does, but they're both basically all autism, all the time. Links to crackpot websites, all that.
This morning, she posted this: "Don't blame my autistic angels for CT, blame YOURSELF!!!" I don't get it. No one is blaming her kids for this. But how on earth is it MY fault?
- It's the scourge of Facebook. Overstate everything then go on the defensive. Then get passive aggressive with posts like "Most people won't share this post. Show that you care about x and share this now!" shit.
- OP, have you not been reading DL threads on this topic? We have *tons* of posters who are not only blaming the mom for her psychotic child's actions and wanting to sue her estate for it all, but also people arguing that ANYONE on ANY sort of medication for autism / Asperger's / depression / whatever should be forcibly monitored by the government. I can't really blame your FB friend for being on the defensive.
- I don't think she was directing the message at you, OP, rather the people and news stories which have questioned whether autism played a part in why the CT shooting happened.
With every tragedy, blame must always be placed, it's just how it is. So far, autism, lack of gun control, a frau mother and lack of prayer in school are the ones being dragged out in this instance.
I'd cut her some slack. It's an emotional time for many and she's reacting out of fear.
- She sounds too dumb to engage with. Ignore.
- [quote]? We have *tons* of posters who are not only blaming the mom for her psychotic child's actions and wanting to sue her estate for it all,
And you assuming "psychosis," distorting what's being said on other threads, and exaggerating the number of posters discussing the topic.

I haven't read much of the threads. Are people really saying this, or is it just the crazies?
- R2, the Sandy Hook 'psychotic son' would not have had the mechanism to kill 26 people if his mother had not put three very high-powered guns at his easy disposal.
He tried to buy a gun on his own on Tuesday at a sporting goods store but he was rejected, so he used his mother's guns which were at his disposal.
- -10/10
- Are they still junkies?
