Bryan Fischer: God Did Not Protect Connecticut Shooting Victims Because Prayer Banned In Schools
Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee made similar remarks on Friday.
"We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools," Huckabee said on Fox News. "Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"

- Gun contol is the answer. Prayer in schools wouldn't have done a friggin thing.
- Fucking idiot.
Don't call for gun control or greater access to mental health services, just blame the innocent victims for not praying enough!
- Such losers. Yea, that's my God ....
"No school prayer ? Then no LIFE for you ... Mwaaaaaaa, Haaaaaaa, Haaaaaaaaa......."
Assholes.
- Again, students are not fobidden to play in schools, teachers are just not allowed to MAKE them pray.
It's a fine distinction, one that escapes the seriously stupid.
- Huckabee is such an attention whore: "Look at me! My bullshit religious beliefs can be attached to any news story!"
I guess his new slogan is "Guns don't kill people. Secular humanism kills people."
Somebody should secularly humanize him.
- God is such a bitch.
- So basically he's saying unless you have the POLITICAL right to pray in school, God will say "Fuck you and die!" to little children if they just pray in their hearts.
How can these GOP bastards stand themselves? If there is a God how he must hate them for using him that way.
- They have no true decency at all. They are really the mentally ill of our society.

- That was obviously the reason that devout Amish School in Pennsylvania was targeted by a crazed gunman in 2006 - they clearly weren't praying enough.
- Quoting Maddowblog:
"students can pray before, during, and after school, so long as it's not disruptive to class. They can say grace before meals in the cafeteria, they can invite classmates to religious services, and they can form after-school religious clubs. All of this is legal right now, under existing law and court precedents, suggesting if anyone has tried to "systematically remove" religion from public schools, they've failed.
The only thing the law prohibits is schools and school officials interfering. Government, in other words, must remain neutral, leaving religious lessons in the hands of families and faith leaders."
The whole thing's worth a read.

- Exactly R10.
I'm so fucking SICK of idiot right-wing religious nutjobs saying that we're removing "god" from schools.
- Bryan Fischer is fucking evil.
- These idiots who want prayer back in schools seem to have forgotten something:
I was in school in the 50's & 60's when we had prayer in school. And NO ONE paid any attention whatsoever to the prayers and Bible readings in school. ALL children threw spitballs and passed notes and whispered funny things to each other throughout prayer time.
In fact, as one who despises religion I strongly advocate putting prayer back in school. Because nothings makes children hate religion more than having it crammed down their throats at school. And I would LOVE to see those assholes figure out how to decide how many times a month they should have Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Unitarian, Methodist, Lutheran, Jewish, Moslem, Hindu, Baha'i, and other types of prayers... and who will select the prayers. That would be hilarious!
- [quote]"Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"
Yes. Idiot Huckster.
- How can these people worship a God they think is so peevish that he'd sit on his hands and let innocent children experience terror, pain, and death all because we weren't spending sufficient time reminding him how wonderful he is?
- And which religion should be recognized as the one whose prayer the children in school should say?
Because the minute some Hindu or ancient pagan verse were recited in school is the day that the Christian nutjobs would shut down prayer in school.
- "Jesus Loves Guns and America"
Wasn't there a Country song written about that?
