[quote] Her studio even prepped a trailer touting her 'nomination'. Ooops.
You DO know that all studios do that in anticipation of nominations, right?
The movie looks ghastly and horrid.
Definitely a movie to avoid and never see.
Barbra is old now.
Babs husband, James Brolin, did not show up with her at the premier last night.
Instead, James Brolin's son, Josh Brolin, and Diane Lane showed up to walk the red carpet with Babs and to accompany her.
Maybe James Brolin did not want to be associated with such a crummy movie.
How many Golden Globes did Meet the Fockers take home?
I'm not a usual Babs fan, and I make fun of her nutty worshippers on DL. But I actually think she might be good in this. The one thing I really love her in is goofy comedy--she's got a genuine flair for it, which she showed in "What's Up Doc?"
r4 James did not eat his dinner in the order I wanted him to (meat, first, then green veges, then orange veges, then cabs at the end.) So he was not allowed to attend.
What James Brolin movie wasn't crummy? He was hardly an a-lister. If he wasn't sick, he should've been there, I can't think of what else would be a good enough excuse.
Something suddenly came up!
but they put it online before it happened....that was the mistake.
180 million domestic.

Exactly! I'm the star of GABLE AND LOMBARD, for fuck's sake!
No one's seen Jim Brolin out in public in years.
He's got the early onset Alzheimer's, you know...
Thank God Barbra has more than enough money for good round-the-clock care - and enough different houses that he can have one all to himself, so she doesn't have to smell the air when he soils himself.
The clips of them in the car look ridiculous with the green screen effects. Put them in a real fucking car on the highway.
I'm related to someone who was very involved with the making of this movie. I don't think anyone expected it to be acclaimed by anyone. Just a mindless film that dysfunctional, easily-entertained families would hopefully see for the holidays.
Have you seen Rogen's other projects? Most of them are produced because he and his cronies had no better ideas at the moment. His slightly more mulled ones can come off that way as well.
i'm very surprised and disappointed she didn't get a GG nom. what a shame. she's so rarely onscreen these days.
R16, Why would you want to diminish and dilute any importance the Golden Globe Awards have by awarding a nomination to Barbara Streisant for such a low level, below mediocre movie?
I agree, R17
Let's just wait and see what the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has to say. An Oscar nomination could be just around the corner for Barbra.
You watch: it'll be a huge hit, and she'll get her third acting nomination. Golden Globes really don't mean shit.
not gonna happen r20
The movie looks like absolute dreck.
I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
Golden globes are a joke prize, everybody knows that.
"Joke prize" is a stretch. Obviously it's less prestigious than the Oscars, but it's the 2nd most prestigious acting awards. For tv,it might even be as prestigious as the Emmys.
No R25. It's a dry run for the Oscars. There's nothing prestigious about the GGs - unless you follow it up with an Oscar or an Emmy. The GGs are like an audition for a big award.
r17, you're talking out of your ass. you haven't seen the movie.
How did Diane Lane look? Healthy?
You bitches better believe the Golden Globes are fucking prestigious!
