It's been nice knowing you guys. I guess it's all over at 12 p.m. on 12/12/12, right?
Does daylight saving time affect that at all?
This thread needs to get to 12 replies, and then end.
Alas, there will be no 13-13-13, 14-14-14, 15-15-15, 16-16-16, 17-17-17.
[quote]Any impact on you ?
My sister turns 30 today, so it's a very big deal for her. Kinda neat that she turns 30 on this date.
plan to play the lottery and spend twelve dollars. five two dollar win for life tickets and one dollar each on megamillions and regular lotto. If I don't get a winner I will stop playing lotto games altogether. My early new years resolution.
Just wait until 13-13-13 rolls around

No that's retarded. It would be "neat" if she turned 12 on that day.
30 is the new 12
R8, I think it's neat 'cause turning 30 is a milestone in many people's lives.
Lousy Smarch weather.
Yes. HUGE impact. I've never experienced anything like this. Gotta go, lots to deal with because the date includes a number that repeats twice if you write it a certain way.
I think I had a headache on 11/11/11 or maybe it was 9/9/09...could've been 6/6/06, hmmmm.
Nothing beats 11/11/11
Dropping a deuce right now and reading DL. I guess not.
Last year on 11/11/11 at 11:11:11am (and later pm) I made two wishes for the new year. They didn't come true. :-(
I plan to finish a dozen jelly-filled glazed donuts by noon today, and gain 12 lbs. I had hoped to wolf them down in 12 minutes but I got sick after the first four.
Coming 12:12 12/12/12 coming up in Denver
You guys have it ALL wrong....the doomsday is 12-21-12. Today is good luck!
I know somebody who will turn 12 years old today, December 12th 2012, at 12.12 pm.
It's my birthday, too.
I call bullshit on the 12:12 PM part.
Not so far, and don't expect it to, but:
And I don't expect anyone to believe me, but it's actually true. On August 8, 2008, I had some sort of weird meltdown/panic attack/reaction to medicine/dehydration (my brother thinks, the latter) which resulted in:
In a "group home"(unhappily and temporarily) being told I was in my room screaming. All dressed up as if to go out. They called the cops (about the screaming.)
When cops came, they looked, to me, like they all had "monster masks" on. They said I could go to police station or hospital wih a mental ward (Northern NY); I chose the latter. It was about 1:00 a.m., but on the 45-minute ride I could swear I saw the sun come up.
I was afraid they were going to kill me, and kept begging tthem not to. When got to the hospital, and during my 5 days there ( but was NOT put in the mental ward; go figure! had also been having kidney issues...); anyway, the whole time there:
Everyone looked like a "clone." I thought the world had been taken over by clones. I called my brother and said, "isn't it awful, what's happening"? (he didn't undrestand, of course!)
I thought the person in the next bed had a gun on me. I saw "episodes" from my past life, including my fear of flying, on the tv screen. The scenery outside the window changed from time to time, including the home where I grew up.
When disdcharged, my vol Medicaid driver and her daughter, drove literally in circles for half an hour (unsure where to get on highway). I was afraid I was going to be taken to an alley and killed.
For the next few weeks, everyone "looked" or "sounded" (on the phone, I could swear I heard backgroun recording noise) like a "clone." Wasn't till my brother visited a few weeks later, that I felt more "back to normal."
Look, I have been on this board, off and on, since 2005, and I KNOW there are a lot of ESTs! I've only told 2 friends the above.
I either got "bad"?? drugs?: was on: Celexa, Atavin, and perhaps worse, Hadol (along w a bunch of high BP drugs) at the time. And, re abovereferenced dehydration, had kidney isssues and fainted 3 times a month before.
But I am NOT making the above up. If anyone has ANY ideas what could have caused this sort of thing (other than 8-8-8, hee-hee!) which I have NEVER had before or since - I would love to know.
Apologize for length of post.
Nuts on 8-8-08
Today is one of my aunts and two of my cousins birthday. It's my Mom's best friend's birthday. It's two friends birthday and my best friend's wedding aniversary.
Only impact has been that I now have to spend my lunch time buying a bunch of cards and gift cards because I'd forgotten all the birthdays 'till I saw this thread. Remembered the anniversary tho, so I don't have to buy a present it was delivered to them yesterday. Everyone lives in the same smalll city so I can drop off cards on my way home and no one will have to know I'd forgotten till now.
and it would have been Frank Sinatra's birthday, listened to some of his music on my way into work
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
