$%&*@% Auto-Correct!!

What's your experience? A help or a hindrance? Sometimes it makes me look like a blithering idiot. I go back and forth, turning it off and turning it on.

• Every time I type where I'm from, auto-correct changes it. I'm from Donegal, not Done Gal.

• Awful, I was texting crema marfil (a type of marble) to someone and it corrected to crematorium. The person the text went to had his young wife die very suddenly the previous month. I was mortified.

• I explained what happened and apologized profusely. I'm still embarrassed.

• I'm much smarter than it is. I never use it.

• Sending the word 'cock' by auto correct, to my mother was horrifying.

• It drives me crazy. People say I can turn it off but I can't find a setting that says autocorrect. Can someone help me??

• I was texting my dad "I'm putting these damn lights up on my balcony" and it was auto-corrected to "I'm putting these dildos right up my butthole." Very embarrassing.

• R12, assuming we're all talking about iPhones here, it's Settings > General >Keyboard. You can toggle Auto-Correction to off but leave on Check Spelling, so that it will highlight any entries it questions and provide suggestions but not auto-correct them.

• I had a sweet cat named Boppie. Auto correct insisted on changing her name to Nipple. Nipple. WTF? I really miss her. RIP Boppie.
