Winter break. Most shows will return late Jan or early Feb. I believe the only network show that has a new episode is the two hour series finale of Gossip Girl next Monday. 'Tis the season of holiday specials OP.
"Good Wife" had to make way for TAR's goatfucker finale.
CBS' "The Good Wife" needed a break so it can stretch its 22-episode season till the end of April/beginning of May. (The 2011-12 season concluded on April 29, 2012.)
The finale editions of "The Amazing Race" (Dec. 9) and "Survivor" (Dec. 16) will delay "The Good Wife" likely until early-January. (I'm guessing Jan. 6, 2013. I did not look any of it up. That is the date for the return of a new season for the American audience of PBS' "Downton Abbey.")

In the meantime, I enjoyed the Hallmark Hall of Fame, which aired on ABC, titled "Christmas with Holly." It will be repeated on Hallmark Channel.
