TCM is showing 3 older film versions of LES MISERABLES tomorrow night and early Friday morning. 1935 American version with Frederic March (Valjean) and Charles Laughton (Javert) Massive 4+ hour French film from 1934 with Harry Baur as Javert The 1952 British version with Michael Rennie (Valjean) and Robert Newton (Javert) I've only seen the March/Laughton version and that was a long time ago. The French version (which I hear was released in 3 separate parts) is supposed to be the best of them. Anyone here seen it? Any other versions of the story (film of TV) that are of note?
