• This isn't the first time I've heard/read Will using "literally" too liberally.

• I'm pretty sure he's using 'literally' correctly here.

As everyone on the DL knows, ALL Republicans are the spawn of Satan, thoroughly evil and mendacious, incapable of uttering a single syllable of truth, and implacable opponents of all that is good and just in the world. • It's actually not redundant and it is used properly in this context. Think about it. It isn't merely that the anti-marriage sentiment is dying, but that the people with the anti-marriage sentiment are actually (literally) dying. Well said George.

• This is the equivalent of Lindsay Graham's "We're just not making enough old white men." (Which could have two thoroughly believable meanings, especially coming from Lindsay.)

• For a change, "literally" is being used correctly and not redundantly. The last line of the statement is "they're old!" which supports its correct use.

• Join them, George. I'm also tired of some liberals who are so desperate for approval from the right that they immediately go into a "he's not so bad" mode. Yes, he is bad. None of those people are "good." To be a Republican these days is to welcome ridicule.

• This is a correct use of "literally." People use "dying" as a political metaphor all the time: "Republican determination on taxes is dying." He is talking about old people kicking the bucket.
