Eastern Market in DC

Is there a way to get out of there without spending at least a couple hundred?

• Boy they must see you coming a mile off.

• Just returned from there and spent just a little over a $100 + drinks.

• Isn't E Market a farmers market -- where on earth did you get drinks?

• What are you buying? Blowjobs in the Metro station restroom?

• The meat, seafood and produce is really good. You'll drop at least one hundred fifty on food.

• There's a lot of crime there, op. Be careful.

• I was there many years ago and had really good Cajun food, but as I recall it was quite expensive even then (late 80s, early 90s ??), especially for a farmer's market. I liked the fact that it was close to the subway and didn't need a car. Does anyone know the history of Eastern Market?

• That area of Capitol Hill is crazy safe.

• Um, I represent those who get arrested in DC and there is a lot more crime in that area than I am comfortable living with. Don't get lulled into thinking you're not vulnerable.

• I think you need to be aware of your surroundings and don't think you're immune to crime, but Capitol Hill is a wonderful neighborhood and safe.
