Mormon Church Calls For Compassion Toward Gays, Says Homosexuality Is Not A Choice

An official statement posted on the new website reads: The experience of same-sex attraction is a complex reality for many people. The attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is. Even though individuals do not choose to have such attractions, they do choose how to respond to them. With love and understanding, the Church reaches out to all God’s children, including our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters. Excuse me, Mormon Church, but telling someone to remain celibate throughout his/her life is not compassionate. Stick your new stance up your ass.

This to me is too similar to when Chick-Fil-A tried to walk back their bigotry only to reel it back in when they were further pressed. Don't fall for it.

We're not supposed to love someone, have a partner or simply act on a (god-given) human characteristic since they're saying homosexuality is not a choice?
