Germany's Angela Merkel Says No to Repairing Inequality

Newly reelected by her party and seeking a third term as chancellor, Angela Merkel walked away from a chance to lead on treating same-sex couples equally with straight couples in tax law. The country's top court is expected to weigh in on the constitutionality of tax inequality before the end of 2013.
