My meat market does it every year too. You tell them how many people you're serving and then you choose from a variety of meats and side dishes. They prepare an excellent dinner.

I don't know if they're still doing the "we are of the people" routine (like the Costco purchases) and lying about their accommodations or if it's an example of the legendary Mormon cheapness.

When I returned the water was hot for my bath. I turned off the heater before bathing and left it off until the next morning. I had water hot enough to wash dishes and the like all day.

What this does is it keeps the pilot lit but prevents the main burner from firing up while you're gone.
