Obama Wants Debbie Wasserman Schultz To Stay On As DNC Chair

Stupid decision by Obama... WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama wants Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to stay on as his party's chairwoman, a Democratic official said Monday. Wasserman Schultz has overseen the Democratic National Committee since early 2011. Party officials credit her in part with helping the president carry her home state of Florida, as well as leading the party to an expanded majority in the Senate and more seats in the House. Obama is asking DNC members to back Wasserman Schultz when they meet in January, just after the president's inauguration, said the official, who requested anonymity because this person was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. A mother of three and a breast cancer survivor, Wasserman Schultz, 46, has represented a reliably Democratic Fort Lauderdale-area district since 2005. Along the way she has earned a reputation as a workhorse and as an outspoken liberal happy to duke it out on television with her Republican counterparts. Throughout the presidential election, Wasserman Shultz was a particularly prominent spokeswoman for Obama in Florida, the critical swing state where the president eked out a close win in the November election. As a Jew and a strong advocate for Israel, she also provided a bulwark for Obama against Republican efforts to paint him as anti-Israel. Wasserman Schultz also buoyed her reputation as a fundraiser during the 2012 election cycle, with Democrats noting that she was particularly adept at bringing into the fold donors to Bill and Hillary Clinton who had been wary of supporting Obama. She supported Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary. The president's support for Wasserman Schultz staying on was first reported by Politico.

Why is this a stupid decision?
She is not at polished and eloquent as some of those selling pure bull shit. I support her, she did her job and is a reliable spokesperson for the Dems
If this was the RNC they'd fire her for doing a goob job like they did to Michael Steele after 2010 and reward her for losing all of those Senate seats, like they just did for Reince Preibus.
Look at the difference in the two conventions. One was an embarassing crapfest, the other was a rousing and entertaining call to arms featuring some of the most interesting and charismatic people in politics. The DNC did a fabulous job. Wasserman played a big part in making it a sucess. Obama knows that better than anyone. Be gone, troll.
She is an embarrassment on national television. She can't speak for shit. She looks like a deer caught in the headlights. She makes the Democratic Party look embarrassing. Repugs wipe the floor with her every time they debate her on air. They lie, and she just let's them. When she tries to correct them, she gives the wrong information. Yes, R12, I certainly DO watch television, hence my previous description of watching Rep. Wasserman-Schultz take down many, many Republicans over the past year. The fact that you dislike her does not automatically mean she's terrible. It just means that you don't like her. She did a great job as DNC chair in a year when the Republicans were widely predicted to win back the Senate and possibly the White House. Well they didn't win a goddamned thing and the President took her home state of Florida in the bargain - always a tough state. Her hair is atrocious, other than that - she's fucking fantastic.
